I put the battery in the fob and then my car wouldn't start til I took the battery back out

I'm facing the exact same issue. But in my case, things are even worse because even with the battery out the issue persists. The key fob works properly (locks/opens the doors and the trunk) but the car won't start. I really appreciate any help. My car is a Mitsubishi Galant 2011.

@@aidanbeining7498 sorry to hear that. It was the keyfob. You should not separate the keyfob from the key because a chip in the fob prevents the car from starting if it's not with the key. Also, if you insist on starting the car many times it locks the computer and it won't start until you reset it. In my case, I had to call a key company to make a new key, and charged me $370. Good luck
