I wish dickheads would stop with the power & torque numbers. You can pump the torque of a turbo-diesel with fuel & air screws 'til it grenades itself. Isuzu keeps it's diesels UNDER STRESSED for high commercial mileage. The others don't care since they make them for 4 year lease customers.

Agreed. No gimmicks on the dmax, just a good honest ute - with great all round performance.
@joelsommersby40747 жыл бұрын
Indeed..!
@maniya68305 жыл бұрын
Though the dmax has lesser torque and horsepower , it still has the best power delivery of any other Ute , even better than the ranger and hilux ! If you can't get the power to the wheels all those numbers are useless.

D-Max is a tough ute with a proven, reliable engine. Isuzu know a thing or two about trucks and diesel engines. It's the safe choice.

@@mrwalker6026 If they were terrible then they wouldn't be able to sell so many trucks.
@RY4NP9 жыл бұрын
number 3....its a truck motor, do the math...a smaller cubic inch motor that makes more power is working harder, if you compare the dyno results of a dmax to say a colorado the dmax makes its power over a broader range, whereas the colorado makes its power straight away which is evident on the dyno graph...a power curve that goes straight up compared to one that goes up over a wider rev range is the results of tuning....the colorado is tuned to within an inch of its life and i would suspect turbo lag is something it suffers from..at the end of the day the dmax is still top of its class in the towing category. .as for the triton, i really don't know.
@yjkader7 жыл бұрын
Not quite. Engineering, development and quality control are all key factors to a strong, reliable engine. At work we have a large fleet of Amaroks, VW Crafters and Isuzu small trucks. As we know VW uses a 2L bi-turbo setup. Some have in excess of 500,000km and none of them have had any engine issues, I have seen transmissions and diffs go on some which was generally caused by a leak leading to oil starvation.

DMAX is the best all rounder ute on the market. Probably the toughest too with that unstressed 3.0 ltr.

l200 is just the best choice of the two, mitsubishi is well known for their diesel engines used in caterpillar equipment also their fuso trucks while isuzu makes good engines is pretty much a gmc with a isuzu badge I take the l200 hands down.

Does the D-max share its DNA with the old Holden Colorado?
Mitsubishi Triton is the best fastest on track comfort better handling stability manuvering cornering original japanese with out modification with bigger turbo,in Thailand they modified Isuzu D-MAX that why it could running very fast but if stock original Japan Isuzu D-MAX no enough power, AXCR cross country off-road rally racing Thailand to Cambodia the winner is Mitsubishi Triton

clever to have the rear cupholders in the armrest?!!! Um, I think NOT! It's one of the most annoying features in modern vehicles. Firstly cupholders in that location breakup what should otherwise be a full, comfy armrest... then you either rub your skin, bracelets or watch on the plastic, causing the cupholders to scratch and discolour very quickly. Also a lot of armrests, especially in pickups with their thin rear backrests, aren't deep enough to accommodate a deep enough cupholder anyway, so it's useless trying to put taller bottles or cups in them. And if you do manage to have an appropriately sized container, it renders the armrest useless, otherwise you'd be bending your elbow almost 90 degrees so that your forearm doesn't knock over the drink. Sorry for the rant, but it's one of the most useless, frustrating and poorly designed features and I can't understand how engineers and designers for sooooo many manufacturers continue to fit those stupid things. D-Max cupholders are in a much better place at the back of the centre console

I don't think the Triton is ugly, but I don't like the curvy design between the bed and the cabin. I personally think the 2012 - 2016 Holden Colorado is the ugliest ever sold in Australia.

+djp4nfa yeah except the DMAX has better 0-100 times (not that it matters in a ute) and also is less effected by load. There is no replacement for displacement

Could never buy such an ugly vehicle as the Triton. I get suspicious of engineering shortcuts when I see a reverse camera blue tacked to the tail gate. Someone at Mitsubishi hates Mitsubishi.
