Codes P2413 EGR Valve Fault.
We Will Now NOT do this job without removing all of the inlet manifolds . There is NO Chemicals out there that will remove this Carbon Build up... I Don't care what you use it will NOT remove that shit out of there. Manifold MUST be removed for manual cleaning. Then you can use Chemicals to remove Carbon and other matter from the engine cylinder head, Valves and pistons and Exhaust.
that is the only way , And it is LABOUR intensive .
We have invested in a lot of Cleaning machines to do the job correctly, High pressure hot wash and Hot sonic bath's.

Todays cars suffer from a dirty intake, but have a clean exhaust system. The opposite from a few years ago. Either way, the residue blow by is getting trapped, but for the intake, is causes performance issues.

Egr is closed all nice and clean, disconnected it after cleaning intake and everything ells. Will put vacuum line back today and see. Here in South Africa we dont have emission problem and inspections. I replace the complete turbo and install 4 new injectors. Will have them programmed in the ECU today. Will keep you updated interesting

yeah the best way to delete an EGR valve is to just block it off (where the gas re-enters the intake system) or at the exhaust manifold rather then just unplugging it. let me know how it goes after you do the ECU and try it plugged back up.

My 3.0 D4d @ 160,000kms Throttle body, Inlet manifold was 30% blocked. I end up doing a manual scrap & clean of soot which managed to fill a full can (375ml). Exhaust Gases and Oil vapour is the worst thing you can mixed as it become very gluey soot. Oil catch can is now fitted.

Apparently brand new cars with high levels of valve timing variability don't have EGR anymore as the valve timing and better mixture controls do a better job at reducing NOX anyway.

this issues can be Minimized with premium Diesels which improves combustion and clean the Injectors hence reducing exhaust deposits

Hey mate, appreciate your honesty, great to see, I'm an old Diesel fitter ex railways, one thing we were taught was servicing, filters oils etc etc. Great video, will watch out for your other videos.

You can see there's no oil catch can on the engine. the crankcase ventilation hose is sending all the oily/fuel "blow-by" vapour from the top of the engine...back into the big air intake pipe just after the air filter. 6.33min Good video thanks The EGR valve can get blocked but it actually does a positive thing by shrinking your engine and saving fuel at low engine speeds. At wide open throttle the EGR valve doesn't doesn't have any effect. The EGR valve only opens at small throttle openings. Would it do any damage to put a blanking plate on the EGR on a turbo diesel... by causing excess heat? Just for the purpose of not having blocked EGR issues due to carbon.

I wish I had seen your video before and gone to you for help as there seem to be a lot of cowboys out there that not only will give a brand a bad name but also do not have a clue on what to do when it comes to built ups on the EGR system.

EGR is a crock. High performance cellulose filter that removes dissolved water (Jet/Diesel/Petrol all have it) knocks out NOx and greatly reduces soot. Manufacturers need to get their heads out their behinds and investigate alternate methods to deal with NOx. Plus fuel economy improves 3 to 5%. Aussie truckies and mining industry have been using them for years.

looks like and interesting and effective process. my only question is, do you REALLY think maintenance is the issue, especially in a 60k old car? if you believe it should be done around 40k, i reckon design is more the problem, not (lack of) maintenance. 10yrs ago this is the kind of treatment you would expect to give a 400k old diesel for a new lease of life not a 3yr old one :/

Emission control systems have historically been a massive issue with all engines. Due to fuel/diesel not being a clean product to run cars on. Simply rerunning the exhaust gases to try and give them a second burn off is just ludicrous. I, personally, think that more energy needs to be put into electric cars and cars that run on hydrocarbons. The problem there is big corporations can't make a ton of money out of it. I'm sure that when the day comes, and it will, corporations will find a way to screw us over anyway. Good maintenance practices and how you drive has the biggest impact on your engine.

nah, catalytic converters are worse. mining the materials to make them, expense, destroying engines when go bad, robbing engines of power, heavy, etc.

You could just block the EGR valve off But that is not legal. The EGR is there to do a job . there are underlying issues that can cause carbon and sludge to build up, eg to much crank case pressure , leaking injectors and seals,, lack of oil changes, low grade oil's etc.

Can my codes on an Audi A5 2013 tdi still have codes of 1) EGR valve open circuit 2) Exhaust gas Recirculation Sensor A circuit/range performance 3) EGR valve open circuit If it was just totally blocked up ?

How to fix the Lexus ES 300. check engine light on. but I change the sub 1 oxygen sensor and sub 2 oxygen sensor.and I used the snap on scanner to delete the but still on check engine light. do you another idea to fix it this car THANK you.

I have a question Phil: If the customer of this Triton had of used a synthetic diesel engine oil such as Mobil Delvac 1 15W-40, do you think that the vehicle's carbon deposit problems would have been less or non existant? I'm curious of your professional opinion of this issue. I personally use Mobil 1 5W-30 in both of our Toyota's (RAV4 and Corolla), and have done so since their first oil changes from new. I've put my dad onto using Mobil Delvac 1 15W-40 in his Isuzu D-Max. His vehicle seems to be running great.

oil isn't the the main issue with carbon build up its caused mainly by the use of the EGR system and city driving mixed with engine blow by. If the owner of this vehicle drove the car twice a month at 100km/ph for an hour or more then the likelihood of it having carbon built up would be minimized. If you were also to add a oil catch can rather than having the blow by go into the intake system then I doubt you would have any problems at all.

Ive just cleaned out my inlet manifold with acid bath which was pretty blocked up with gunk. Also the EGR valve. Can you tell me if blanking the EGR will give the engine more power and economy? Ive been told it will cost $700 to remap my toyota Hiace 2009. What is your opinion re the extra power and economy? Could I blank it and drill a 8mm hole in the centre of the blank to minimise build up. Would this still give more power etc? Or should I just put a catch can in for $300? The catylictic converter has been bypassed..cheers

I would be interested to know if you have put a bore scope in the inlet tract and runners of some vehicles treated to see before and after results of this process, curious if this process is yelding the same results as ultrasonic off car manifold cleaning and media blasting of the inlet. Would love to know your thoughts

the only way to do a complete clean is to remove all manifolds, NO product will ever clean it off with out manual clean first. BUT it cost [labour] some people don't want to spend [invest] in doing it that way. but these day's i only want to remove all manifolds..... and do it correctly. [it's the best way]

@@PTPrecisionAutomotive thanks, I dont think any do. They just use the reader and nothing comes up so they have no idea. I can smell petrol at times when shes warmed up. Just gunna take the car to the garage and pay for them to look at the car rather than them just use an obd reader. Thanks

Hi I removed my vacuum pipe of my egr and blocked the vacuum tube off. Can the disconnected egr cause low performance on low rpms. Got a e46 320d turbo only kicks power at 2800 revs. Please let me know if you would be so kind

is the EGR valve closed? have you tried plugging the hose back on and seeing if the power comes back? usually when they fail you have no power at low RPMs because they get stuck open.

I have a 2005 Lincoln is my car sounds like it has a miss fire and it is blowing the oil all over the engine. When they scanned the car it showed the EGR valve and also the oxygen senceir. Can any one help me please

I live in London Where can I contact someone , to get my VW golf plus EGR valve regularly serviced to prevent it clogging up. Just now my EGR valave is being replaced (after 39,000 miles !!!. I wish to have a tel no and email address.

mate as long as you're looking after it you shouldn't have to deal with these problems. A lot of them are caused by city driving and lack of maintenance
