Being a fan of the SSL style compressor have ever tried the plugin alliance Townhouse compressor?? If not you're in for a treat!! Not to mention their SSL channel strips. The THD sound is amazing even when applied subtly. I'd love to hear your review on them because I love them.

My overall favorite is the Empirical Labs Arousor. I used the Waves SSL channels for years but the PA versions have pretty much replaced those. PA's Vertigo comp is my favorite for 2 bus or mastering along with PA's Iron.

Love my Waves Dbx. I love the way it shapes kicks. Edit: also love the Waves API. And the BX Townhouse that everyone is ranting about lol. I know you don’t like it, but it works for me. Maybe I’m just used to it; it was the first VCA that I really used.

PSP plugins are amazing and yes...very underrated company. I own the McQ , ClassicQ and EMT 2445 reverb..and no matter what other plugins I use im always going back to this 3 plugins for space grit and punch. I ve been waiting a sale to get Buss pressor and the 1176 clone they have. Which ive heard a lot good reviews.

I really like the Vertigo Vsc-2 by Plugin Alliance and Ik Multimedia's (SSL) Buss Compressor emulations and I never see anybody talk about those. To my ear, the Buss Compressor reacts kinda similar to the real one. We can only imagine how the Vertigo compares to the hardware unit.

bro i got a question, someone said the ssl consoles compressor and the dbx 160 is the same, is that true and second question, how would u describe the dbx 160 sound? tupac used it on all his vocals but i cant tell what sound on his voice is it

No is not. The old SSL G Bus Comp (not the channel comp) had the DBX VCA Gold which is a COMPONENT, only the VCA, and while it was DBX it has nothing to do with the DBX 160A (original) which was used on Pac vox, nothing, not even close. My Ng Bus and the Dione both have the original DBX VCA inside, the new SSL doesn't but again, nothing to do with the 160A (original). You can find them used tho', but it won't make much difference, nobody is 2Pac other than 2Pac
