wow dude really? i was going to go for a sound engineering degree .... is it sucks or u didn't study ??
@pitimor8 жыл бұрын
It's with all studies honestly... I've got a degree in IT yet I use maybe like 5% of everything I had to learn there in my work, the rest was theoretical stupid bullshit, the skills actually needed for my job I had to learn on the go. Studies are overrated and really impractical, unfortunately many employers require a degree and that's why we do it.

This helped me a lot!!! I bought Shure SM58, which is legendary mic and I wasn't able to get the desired sound of it even with some effect but this video saved my life! Some compressing and EQ make a lot! Thank you!!!
@aimbot165 Жыл бұрын
yeah I use sm58 too, the issue for me was I was basically eating the mic which caused a lot of build up in the low end.

Try this with a Sennheiser and you'll be tearing your hair out. The mic used here had to be some type of Shure, probably an SM7b..

What playback level should I be looking for when recording low growls?? I feel like they always come out much too low in volume unless I hold the mic in my hand and cup it which then ruins the sound, Im doing the vocals at the volume level they Should be performed at (At the behest of enormous mountains of tutorials and learning material online which indicate that the low growl should not be that much louder than a normal speaking voice: when done properly) and using a pop filter but they just come out so weak. Is the person mixing supposed to always be boosting lower growls? Ive even performed them live and sounded just fine at the usual speaking volume. Its driving me nuts.

@DeathCultureStudio8 жыл бұрын

Oh, man, this is the weirdest thing ever! You'd fall off your chair if you saw and heard the project I'm working on in Cubase!!! It's sooo the same sound, the "song" or musical material is similar but I'm just at 33 bars so far. The colors ar about the same and the track count! Alt+Tabbing between KZbin and Cubase looks totally funny! When I started this video I just did this loud "WTF!" and laughed and laughed. I guess this tutorial is for me! :D I'm just checking out your vocal mixing since I'm not done much in this genre, although I've been recording since forever ... And I'm on the right track with EQ and Compressor already, But Cubase in Russian? Never heard of! But I can't say I've been looking either, since I can't say many words in Russian haha!

You want a decent mix spend the fucking money man. It'll cost a band a few hundred dollars on the cheap as fuck end to get a mix that barely sounds radio ready. Most places charge $80 an hour and a few hundred per song tracked.
