I bought a white 1992 (MK2) 16V GTI with BBS rims and 4 wheel disk brakes off the showroom floor in Long Beach at Circle Volkswagen turning in my 1984 Rabbit GTI (MK1). I later turned in the MK2 for a Toyota Truck at Longo Toyota (around 1994 I suppose). Looking back, I wish I'd kept both. Hindsight always 20/20 ... BTW: My daily driver now is a 1984 Rabbit GTI all stock...

I was woundering abou the mk1 Audi TT drive shaft. Thanks for stating the stock works for the swap. I got a Full Audi TT parts car with the 1.8t 225 quatro in it, that I want to AWD swap into my 1985 mk2 gti.

Hey! The outer joints are MK3 VR6 and the inner joints are MK4 R32. The shafts are custom that I had made at a local driveshaft shop. - David
