Do you have a link to the extension tool that you used to get the first two bolts off the vacuum pump cover?

Hi Andy Hope all is well with you. I have been experiencing a P0106 code for a while. My temporary fix so far was as follows 1) change & clean put Map sensor 2) Change the PCV diaphragm 3) clean the throttle body 4) clean the hose leading from the pcv to the intake manifold 5) clean the inside of the intake manifold Problem i am experiencing is that i am constantly getting oil on the MAP sensor causing the p0106 & making the car run bad. My question to you is, should i change out the whole valve cover since the pcv is intergrated (and possibly be the culprit due to a failing PCV valve or carbon build up) to the valve cover or should i update my ECU according to a tsb? I have a 2009 VW jetta 2.5. Apprecoaye your thoughts and thank you for your time.

They make a vacuum pump delete kit from spulen half the price of a new pump I did it to mine worked wonderfully

Ya it could. But check to make sure it’s not coming From the vacuum pump.

Well the vacuum pump. Or the cover gasket like in the video. It could always be another seal or gasket. Most old German cars leak oil.

Nothing new here. Stupid vacuum pump leak. A really poor design. There is a vacuum pump delete kit that solves this once and for all. Again just poor German over engineering. Let's create a vacuum pump to power the brake booster instead of just using manifold vacuum like we've been dong since the 1950s. Insane. Let's put a steel cover on an aluminum pump housing. Great engineering. If you insist on replacing the cover gasket, it's way easier to get to if you remove the battery and tray.
