I was blessed to be at the first Live Performance of this song at the Central Tavern in Seattle. I was standing right next to his Father. He was so proud. He caught me looking at him and bragged that it was his Son up there and shared that Landrew was nervous about playing the piano. It was a MAGIGAL NIGHT. Will stay with me forever. I was Blessed.

my two favorite bands from that era are MLB and Alice In Chains. MLB had a twinge of the 80s glam rock and there was some hopefulness in their music. Alice In Chains music on the other hand hammered it home the 80s were over and dragged you kicking and screaming through the heroin problem in Seattle during that time. Great music at a tragic price.
@jeanluc13135 жыл бұрын
Andrew Wood was clearly influenced by the many of the same bands that influenced 80s glam bands, and that influence is mostly reflected in his vocal delivery and stage demeanor. But MLB's instrumentation (particularly the guitars, which are not flashy) is much different from 80s glam.
@josecano92104 жыл бұрын

Seek and you will find ask and you shall receive knock and the door will be open. Words of Jesus Christ our Messiah. there would be no Seattle music sound if it was not for Andrew Wood. Andrew is and was a sacrifice. I can relate. Stone Goddard. Etc. God bless Andrew Wood. It is so profound, it is so simple. This is a twisted world that is satanic. Jehovah have mercy on Andrew Wood. We never really realised exactly what was going on was legendary , we were just having a blast and living life . Lot of great musicians never got noticed and bands unfortunately but atleast we got to see them play at party houses etc on the weekends . I saw a lot of legendary musicians and nobody even knows them today . They just never got that one big break from the industry to get them noticed . I grew up in eastern Washington til i was 15 or so and then i grew up in Western Washington where i still am . So i saw and knew bands and musicians and friends from both sides .

This song is timeless.I was a young teen when MLB was around and I'm very grateful. This song should have been huge there's nothing like this now it's so beautiful with so many levels to it I love it. Thanks to whoever gifted us with this download we need things like this so when we are in our 40s 50s 60s ect.like we are now we can watch this and transport ourselves back to when we were young healthy hellraisers. Also when you watch Eddie from pj sing this you can really appreciate Andy's voice because his pitch is so hard to match you can tell Eddie strains to try and hit those notes but he had such a deep voice he does do it justice though but the point I'm trying to make is Andy's voice was a gift.

@mikebehrend31524 жыл бұрын
mystro810 had he lived without a doubt we would not of had Pearl Jam. The question would be would MLB been lumped into the sunset strip crowd at the time of the release and once Smells Like Teen Spirit exploded been shelved? At the time both AIC and Soundgarden could clearly dip there toes into the thrash scene that was smothering the strip sound and Eddies voice and somber ness kept PJ into the Grunge feel. MLB while having the spirit of grunge and the location Andrew and his larger than life persona kept them lumped into that Sunset Strip feel. Don’t get me wrong MLB was one of the first great bands introduced to me at the time that moved the compass from Sunset Strip to Puget Sound just not sure they would of gotten there fair shake in that time period like Pearl Jam did by arriving about 8 months later

Wow, he sounds exactly like on the record. Usually singers sound a bit worse than on the records, but Andrew's voice was just freakin' awesome! Nice to see them playing live

Man I love Andrew's voice so much! I'm happy he made the music he did but I would love to have seen what would've happened had he lived a long life. He was a natural rock star
