I'm just going to explain this as a former water treatment sales person whom sold similar systems to Kangan, but mine were A LOT CHEAPER. She likely has hard water. Part of what some of the kangan units do is soften it, which can change the ph. She also was likely using too much soap and any softener. You can actually stain your clothes washing with too much detergent and really any amount of fabric softener too. If you use too much soap, it won't fully dissolve. Then if you use softener, it will add essentially a wax on top, letting the stain set. When she washed with just water, she washed away the excess soap and fabric softener. The unit, softening the water further helps as soap dissolves better in soft water compared to hard water. Summary, she uses too much soap and softener, and washed it out when she used none and her slightly softened water. Thus why her clothes look better

As a mom with an autistic child, I strongly disagree with that lady's hot take that "therapy isn't helping your child with autism." That makes me want to throw up. My toddler goes to therapy three times a week, and it's the best decision we could have ever made for him. He's made huge strides in every area of his development, and it's such a sweet thing to see my son have a team of caregivers who loves and helps him. Arbonne could never.

Right? I’m a former special education teacher and am fully aware of the monumental benefits of various therapies for children with autism. It is widely known that early intervention via therapy (OT, feeding therapy, play therapy, etc, etc) is the very best and healthiest way to ensure that children with autism learn and progress as they develop. I hate these companies who try to claim otherwise. I mean, if you think oils and supplements are helping your child a little, fine. But for this person to outright claim that the truly effective treatments should be set aside for the alternatives is appalling.
@Link-dx1lx
@Link-dx1lx 5 ай бұрын
It really depends on the kind of therapy. Some kinds are really helpful to autistic kids, some can be really traumatizing. However there is no doubt that Arbonne supplements aren't going to be of any help 😂 also idk what she's on about with the "heavily medicated" since there is no medication for autism

As an autistic human… it depends on the therapy. ABA, for example can make children more manageable and compliant… but there’s a lot of trauma happening that neurotypical people don’t understand that can follow the kid into adulthood. (Ask me how I know. ABA is horrendous!)

It really does depend on the individual and the therapy and the therapist. Some therapies like ABA can be extremely traumatising for autistic people. It forces us to mask, not manage autistic traits and needs. I received no therapy and I seemed complete stable at 25. I had finished my degree, Cumme laude. On my way to a highly competitive and exhausting post grad program. I had a respectable office job with the municipality, job and a life and by all measures I was doing well. Then I hit my 30s and I burned out. Like explosive flames burnout. I had no skills to manage my autistic needs.

That is a generalization. My mom, brother, and ex husband are all autistic. All three would love to have a magic button they could push to be neurotypical. They all realize what a burden their limitations caused by autism are, and the fact that it alienates them from others. They do not enjoy their sensory issues, social impairments, or meltdowns. I have had deep discussions about this and among their online support groups this is a common feeling which is just as valid as embracing autism. The thing that really gets me about the high pH water being used as detergent is that you can’t just magically raise (or lower) water’s pH without adding something to it. And 11.5 is HIGH (water is usually around 6.5-8, and the average laundry detergent doesn’t usually go above 10). So, if it *is* in fact raising the pH that much (someone needs to get those pH test strips and test this tbh, bc it could be doing nothing at all), the only way it could achieve a pH that high is by actively adding a highly basic substance to the water. At which point it isn’t “just water” is it?
@evren5642
@evren5642 5 ай бұрын
Also should maybe be obvious but low pH isn’t necessarily what makes detergents and cleaners effective, anyway. It has more to do with how those chemicals are able to interact with lipids and other grime, something water just can’t do on its own bc it’s naturally lipophobic.
@cgmeyo
@cgmeyo 5 ай бұрын

Hi guys! Biochemistry student here! I'll explain the science from the post at 13:30 for anyone interested. Water ionizer- it doesn't make sense because if you put salt in water, the salt becomes ions. So water itself is "an ionzier". And water also "ionizes" itself all the time like this: H2O -> H+ and -OH , so no need for a machine. Molecular hydrogen rich water- This is impossible. Molecular hydrogen also known as "hydrogen gas" or "H2". It would no longer be molecular if you mixed it with water. It would react and the whole thing would become acidic water. The simplest definition of "acid" is "more hydrogen then there's supposed to be". Molecular hydrogen can be dangerous and can explode in contact with air. Anti-oxidant rich- Well, hard to say what this would be like, it depends on which anti-oxidant we are talking about. Some examples are vitamin A , C and E. But what's hilarious is that anti-oxidants actually stops ionization from occurring. In other words, if you stop hydrogens from splitting off from their molecules and becoming their own ion, then you are an antioxidant. Antioxidants are usually big molecules and the water would probably become gunky and opaque. Medical grade water- It is extra clean water used to sterilize things at the hospital. This water wouldn't be medical grade because there are anti-oxidants in it! But even if there were no anti-oxidants, it would easily become non sterile as soon as it touches anything, including regular air. Electrolysis- No, that is just outrageous. Electrolysis is basically a complicated way to turn water into gas. But not just regular H2O steam, but split up in to oxygen and hydrogen gas. This is a chemical technique done in a lab, and it will explode unless you know what you are doing! So about pH; pH juste means how acidic or basic something is, in other words "how many extra hydrogen atoms are there?" or "How many hydrogen atoms are missing?" Where a pH of 7 means it's perfectly in the middle. When preforming an electrolysis you can get a difference in pH over time, and in separated areas of the water. What pH we would get depends on what type of electrolysis we do. Sounds technical? IT IS. 11,5 pH - That is just as basic as bleach. None of the things mentioned above would cause water to become that extremely basic (remember basic menas lack of hydrogen atoms). If you want something to get a particular pH you can't just turn a dial on a machine! Oil emulsification- means oil and water are mixed really well. At this point I don't know anymore.

(sorry for the length, I'm terrible at short and sweet - just ignore this if you don't want to read a novella) I have to ask... why is it bad to want to not be autistic? I am asking this because my teenage son is autistic. He's spent weeks in a psych ward and his autism prevents him from many things. We are doing absolutely everything his care team suggests to try to help him the best possible quality of life and help him be a productive member of society, but his autism is pretty... harsh. I have asked him about it and he's wished for a cure and honestly, as I watch him struggle, I wish for one, too. That doesn't mean I hate autistic people or want them to disappear, however. Yet expressing a thought like mine is considered "bad" and I don't understand why. I'm disabled and mostly bedbound/confined to a wheelchair and wish hard that I had a cure for my various illnesses, yet no one has told me I should be ashamed for wanting that. I wish there were cures for various mental illnesses. My brother died and his schizoaffective disorder contributed to it. I also wish there was a cure for that, too. Yet I was shamed for it. Why? I genuinely don't understand. I am diagnosed with depression, and would love a cure for that, as well. Please understand that this does not mean that I hate people who struggle with these things; I do not. But watching my son struggle so much and cry and have to be hospitalized and basically have no IRL friends makes me wish that he didn't have to go through life on Hard Mode like he is. Same with my daughter who has diagnosed Tourette's and OCD. She's also expressed a desire for a cure for her issues and for her brother. If there was a cure, I would never say that it MUST be taken by every autistic person but even expressing a desire for them (medical professionals/scientists) to look for a cure gives you significant backlash and I genuinely cannot comprehend why. I am also not saying that YOU need to be cured, either. But for those who do wish that they didn't have to struggle with it... like, even my son was "yelled at" over the internet for expressing a desire for a cure for his autism. I told him there is nothing wrong with wanting that and not to listen to those people because only he truly understands how bad it is for him and he's perfectly valid in wanting that for himself. The last time I expressed this (after my son tried to take his own life), I was called a horrible person and a horrible mother and that somehow I'm in favor of genocide - which is beyond absurd and disgusting. I'd take a cure for being able to walk again, but I know not everyone would. But it would be nice for the option. Same for mental illnesses and other neurodivergences - especially if they seriously interfere with your QoL, you know? Again, I am not saying I want you or anyone to disappear, but the option for a cure for those who want it... it'd be nice. And if my son didn't wish for the same thing and I saw how much he struggled with it, I doubt I'd think this at all as I wouldn't have experience with it. It's not taboo to want to cure your physical ailments, but for some reason it is for mental ones, even though those can seriously impact your life in the negative - like my brother's did and currently, my son. And I've never understood it. Either way, I love my children and would do anything to help them succeed in life. Autism or not.

I'm a person with autism myself. I say that, because while we are not broken or sick in the traditional sense, I don't view my autism as a benefit in my life, and it's usually actively a harm to it. Because it's a spectrum, how functional one is will vary. If you're high functioning, then you're probably going to have an easier time than someone who isn't. We agree that exploiting the fear of people regarding autism is sinister. But I would disagree on the fixing. If there were a cure, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

As an autistic person (recently formally diagnosed! Yay!) I do want to thank you for trying to use appropriate terminology. This stuff is as you say a hot topic at the moment and I do think it comes down to personal preference. Autism doesn't really occur on a sliding scale but as a spectrum disorder you can have some symptoms and not others and the ones you have can range in severity. For someone like me it is legitimately an actual superpower. I have multiple advanced degrees including a doctorate, I'm great at singing opera (dramatic coloratura soprano tyveddymuch), and I have a ton of other really refined knowledge and skills that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have if I wasn't autistic. I also have what the allistic normies might consider super perception. My sense of smell and hearing are both really insane. BUT the flip side of this for both myself and a lot of people with different presentations is that all that extreme sensory perception can be overwhelming. Autistic people because our brains have just so many more synapses than allistic people generally get much more stimulation out of both outside stimuli AND EVEN our own or other people's emotions. A lot of us (not all but many) can be almost super empathic but also unable to communicate that in a non-autistic manner. So *that* sort of thing can be disabling. For example, I don't cry much if ever and I've been accused of being emotionless but what I do do is shake and sometimes vomit when I'm getting the feels. (In fact once I was accused of having no emotions and I was so upset that someone was hurt by my apparent lack of emotions that I ended up having a cyclic vomiting episode for about six hours. The irony was not lost on me.) Depending on the person you're talking to and their life experiences, autism can range from an amazing part of their personality and life that makes them extra excellent to an absolutely debilitating disability. For me "autistic" or "autistic person" is the perfect term to use, but I can totally see another person preferring "person with autism." But yeah, tl;dr we are all different and will prefer different terminologies, but thank you so much for researching and doing your best.

NOT a supporter of kangen - but my ex's dad was (IS) obsessed & essentially the machine changes the PH/viscosity of water so that when you add it to a wash, think of it as basically adding something like vinegar to the wash, which isn't horrible and will do something, just don't know realistically how effective that actually is. We always politely declined using it. When you rub it in your hands though it actually feels more like oil or lubricant, it doesn't feel like water anymore at all when you select the laundry setting on the PH scale

I live in a farming community in the Midwest. A bearded older man came into the store wearing a black Arbonne shirt. Not that men can't get into MLMs, but this was obviously a tough farmer guy! I tried to stifle my laughter as I wondered if his wife made him wear the shirt or does this tough guy sell Arbonne with monosyllabic grunts?

THANK YOU for acknowledging that NO, we do not have the same 24 hours in a day. As a new Mum who has a boy about the same age as your daughter, I really feel like I don't have time to shower, let alone "prioritise". It really winds my gears. I'm really trying to look for productivity gurus who DO have children, and whose response isn't just "you should hire help, like a cleaner or a nanny". That doesn't work for the majority of people who are living pay check to pay check like myself.

I have a son who just turned one and I feel you. Especially now that he learned how to walk he wants to zoom around the house for 12h/day and I feel like I´m always just picking up the mess. If I "prioritize" and do something specific for a day (like vacuum and mop all floors), then that is the only thing I´ll get to do all day because the tasks themselves will take thrice as long and because the other stuff piles up too (cooking, dishes, laundry, toys and books scattered everywhere etc.). So if I prioritize one task, the others are bound to get left behind which means more work with laundry the next day. So currently my best recommendation is: Lower your productivity expectations and get a little bit of everything done each day (tidying, cleaning, cooking, dishes, laundry) to keep a workable environment. Also involve the child as much as possible, my son loves "helping" me with laundry, handing me the wet clothes to put on the clothesline etc. ^^ Good luck!

I'm a 31 year old autistic woman. I have been through pretty much every (safe and sane) treatment, including the whole "gut health" healing diets growing up. The only thing that has actually helped me is medication and hours of therapy. I don't blame my mom for trying different treatments but ultimately science proves therapy and meds actually work.

As the mother of a child on the autism spectrum if you would actually go to the doctors that want to help and not just pill push they'll tell you point blank which foods you should fully stay away from. My doctor said no artificial red of any kind yellow. So that's no red twizzlers and no yellow corn.

I’m autistic and truly I personally don’t care. I’m just autistic, it’s not a disease, it’s not an illness, I’m just autistic. I’m an autistic person, someone who has autism, I’m just a person at the end of the day. I don’t see either as offensive because having autism isn’t offensive

I am very disappointed at the woman who used her sister's tragedy as a source of sales revenue for her MLM. She missed the opportunity to make sales AT her sister's funeral. Many people at funerals are sad and, fortunately, very vulnerable to high pressure sales. Seize the opportunity boss babes! I want to share with you several life hacks I have successfully employed. Surface space in funeral homes can be limited, and so, I have found that simply closing the casket lid will free up a great deal of space to display your products. For those of you who sell make-up, why not consider using the corpse as your "pallette" to demo your products.

1. As a recent diagnosed Autistic, i understand and resonate with both lables for the reasons you explained. I want to be seen as who i am outside my autism, yet, I still have needs that are outside the norm and i also embrace that autism is a part of me 2. With water, what you didn't mention is that hot water can fix stains such as blood in fabrisc and its best to remove these stains ASAP with cold water. 3. With powder detergent, the instructions tell you to use way more per load than needed so you run out faster and buy more. In reality even half the recommended if im correct is enough to do the job

I was a pediatric nurse for 27 years and I was always taught the correct thing to was a person with diabetes not a diabetic person. When I was a high school nurse, several of my students came to me, asking if they could talk to me. They asked me to call them autistic. We talked about it and I understood what they were saying. I asked if I could write their parents a letter and they agreed. I sent letters home, explaining our conversations and the parents loved it! Since that day, I have autistic kiddos in my building.

Why did they want to be called autistic? Times have changed. I remember when we didn't want labels or want anyone to know what "issues" we had. I still don't. Nobody knows anything, because I don't need a label nor need to be treated special.

Thank you for the comments on the whole 9-5 thing. I work a 9-5 job in a pretty boring industry- insurance - However let me add - I work remotely. I have flexibility with my time. I have health and dental insurance. I have a 401k. I have generous PAID time off for vacations/holidays/sick time. And when I log off at the end of my work day, I am done. I did not have put money upfront for my job. I get regular paychecks so I know I can pay my bills. Is this job my passion? Nope. Does this job allow me to focus on things that are. Yep. I realize it's not for everyone. But the idea we are somehow downtrodden, or lack ambition, or whatever is insulting and incorrect.

I have an autistic son and I honestly think people need to calm down with the “this is how you should address an autistic person” and then others “no this is how you should address some one with autism” I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way as each person will prefer something different. MLMs trying to “cure” of “treat” autism along with any other medical claims is just sick and twisted, these MLMers need help 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm a parent of an autistic child and I'm a firm believer that you can spread the message about acceptance and awareness of autism without including your child's likeness or private information pertaining to their disability. Majority of autistic children are non verbal and cannot give their consent about what is shared about them, and sadly there are parents that take advantage of their disabled children for clicks and views.
