Not sure if you’d see this -- I’d love to chat! I am a dv and family law advocate. I had to leave social media because the entire DV community has become “buy my course, book and 1:1”. These are UNTRAINED, UNEDUCATED content creators. I run a REAL nonprofit and we provide FREE 100% free services and classes. I had a client who was unfortunately unalived because she gave 5k to a “dv coach” who told her to just “leave”. I can’t even get into how dangerous that is. I’ve been working on a series but I’d be happy to pass the idea and footage off to someone who could get it out there! Kind of the same idea I guess? I leave comments telling people I can get them started for FREE with like a paragraph of pointers. The people selling don't know ANYthing, as I see wrong info right away. For example, I saw an "herbalist's" post saying "Why don't we plant fruit trees on the sides of the road for homeless people to eat for free!?" The reason is you don't eat from the side of the road. Car tires and cars themselves leave TONS of toxins. Anyone who has ever foraged or studied plants knows this, it's a main point when you get started...where NOT to go looking for food and medicine LOL. Asbestos litigation paralegal here!! I don’t know how old that woman’s husband is but the latency period for mesothelioma is 30-50 years (meaning it can take 30-50 years to develop after exposure). Assuming he’s young, it is likely that he got secondhand exposure as a kid. Let’s say one of his parents was a carpenter or electrician and was redoing drywall in an old building or something. That parent probably came home with fibers in their clothes and he probably inhaled them. We see this all the time actually. Is it sad and tragic? Yes. Is it the result of “unclean” household and personal items? Unlikely. I hope they find peace and healing some other way because Monat certainly will not give that to them.

@@maryeckel9682 not often. It’s usually people who worked in specific industries or locations or were members of a union. Or it’s a spouse/child whose spouse/parent worked in a specific industry and they’re alleging secondhand exposure. So it’s usually pretty clear. What usually happens is 50-60 defendants get named and then through the course of discovery most defendants will be let out of the case. By the end there’s usually only a handful or even 1-2 left. But I has to be done that way because more often than not the plaintiff won’t live to see the end of the case so they have to throw stuff at the wall to see what will stick while they’re still alive.

The bite video made me sick to the stomach. For context; I'm a herbalist. I make whole plant-based completely natural remedies in my kitchen for my family and friends. You can use natural plantbased ointments to help heal a wound: arnica, calendula, and comfrey are the classics. HOWEVER, you use these in extracts from the whole plant (meaning, you extract the active compounds into a base oil like castor or olive by using heat) and thicken that to an ointment consistency with beeswax. You never put pure essential oils on an open wound, because of potency and concentration issues that can irritate healthy skin - let alone broken skin. And most importantly, you do not apply any kind of ointment before thoroughly disinfecting the wound - at every application - and redress the injury. Essential oil bottles are not sterile, people. There is also no grounds for using the oils that they did. Yes, tee tree is anti microbial, congrats. But not sufficiently to disinfect a wound, and it contains other irritants that will make the injury worse (namely the active compounds in this case. Its not meant to be used on broken skin at all). I also question whether they followed proper protocol in handwashing when treating the wound and dressed it adequately. Because yes, that looks infected to me.

I've known several people that "worked so hard" to earn these trips and other big prizes from MLM companies. They end up getting there by buying tons of product themselves....it does not seem to cross their mind that they could have saved that money and gotten much closer to paying for the trip themselves.

I cannot believe that they couldn’t see how much worse that wound was getting and I cringe thinking of pouring essential oils on a wound like that!

What the af. This is horrible. I’ve spent virtually my entire career in the ER and I can tell you without doubt the best care for any open wounds is soap and water and air.. Go easy on those ointments, cover them only if absolutely necessary when you’re away from home or engaged in dirty chores. Clean and dry is the absolute best thing. Oh, and if it’s a bite, especially a human one you’re best to be seen and take some antibiotics. Human bites are absolutely the worst, far worse than a dog bite. Suture closure is not generally recommended for bites unless there is truly significant tissue tearing, it only seals in the germs. All the rest of these inventive ideas to speed healing are not only useless but potentially dangerous.

I have always found their content so cringy, fak and over the top. The overuse of words like “ bossbabe, financial/time freedom, be your own boss, growth mindset”. They promote hussle culture, prosperity gospel, just work harder and you will have success, don’t give up. Now they started using mlm strategies like “comment Money if you want to know my secret”. The prices are 3000-3500 euro’s for 10 week course. Thanks to your video’s I know these are also tactics that MLM also uses. And like you said: it’s not about helping businesses, but making money selling courses and preying on insecurities of female business owners. Keep up the good work 🙏🏻

Hey Hannah. I found my way to your channel through your Influencer Insanity series (which is my favorite) but I’ve also been watching a lot of your anti-MLM vids. These are amazing. I did Mary Kay like 15 years ago and lost a few thousand dollars from it. When I signed up I was encouraged to take out a personal loan so that I could invest in a ton of products, as it’s easier to sell to people if you have the products in your inventory and I totally bought into that. When I eventually quit I was able to sell some of the products back to Mary Kay for only a portion of what I had originally paid…this did not pay off my loan, so I had to pay the rest out of pocket. Wish I had these videos back then to stop me from doing that! Keep up the hard work to spread the truth about these companies.

PSA: The main concern when treating open wounds is to first and foremost DISINFECT it. Oils do not kill bacteria and putting them on a fresh, open wound can introduce even more bacteria to it. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean open wounds as it is an effective antimicrobial agent. Use freshly washed hands when treating the wound, and do your best not to touch it with your hands while cleaning it. Use gauze and medical tape to wrap it up. Replace gauze frequently and allow the wound to breathe for a couple hours if you are sedentary and not moving the part of your body with the wound.

I just discovered your channel today and have been really enjoying it. 2 things that really irk me about some influencer content creators, as you mentioned, those that use an illness or something sad to get people to buy buy buy. Also, those that fake an illness to get people to send them money or other things. My dad passed away in 2015 from lung cancer, he was diagnosed in July and passed not even 2 month later. My Maternal granddad and paternal grandma also passed from cancer. I would not wish that on even my worst enemy, if I had one, because those are the hardest times my family and I have ever been through. Yet, here are people exploiting this in order to make a buck while at the same time duping and taking advantage of others... Thank you for making this type of content and trying to help instead of hurting or taking advantage of others. My boss created a makeup line as she did have skin cancer but I jave never seen her use this over and over again to get them to buy her product. To this channel I will subscribe, even if most channels I watch are music reactions or documentaries. About to start watching your influencer series.

As an RN I will tell you with 100% certainty that human bite wounds that break the skin are far worse than being bitten by a dog or cat. How do I know this? Because on the first day of class in Microbiology 101 our professor weeded out the class by requiring every student to swipe one petri dish with a swab that had been taken from the mouth and another petri dish with a swab that was taken from the anus! Despite that class being impacted and wait listed every semester, 50% of the students dropped out on the first day because they weren’t about to swab their bunghole for our first lab assignment. Guess which dishes grew the most number of nasty organisms??? THE MOUTH!
