I'm just gonna put this scenario out there, more as a hope than a true guess or expectation. Who knows? Maybe the dice will heed my plea. We know Edbert didn't arrive by boat, so that only leaves a few options. He either got there by air, sea, or magic. My guess? Divona herself brought him to the islands after he fell overboard during a storm. Perhaps even using that 'cautious evil' thats circling the lake right now. But then, why would she do that? Well we know that the forces of death have been uppity around here for some time, to the point that perhaps even Death itself has gotten too great of a foothold in this archipelago. An archipelago that should rightfully be under Divona's rule. Yet here we are, in a temple with her Heart frozen in a pillar of ice. Divona's powers were locked away here some time ago, and because of that she hasn't been able to take a direct hand in wresting control of her islands back away from Death. She needs someone to release her imprisoned Heart from its cage. So why does she need Edbert? Because her Heart was sealed away by an agent of Death, and only someone touched by Death can break the seal. How's that for drama?

oooh this episode had such a different tone and feel to it. This one felt like there was lots of tension and suspense. This was a lot darker in tone and action then the others (probably being inside some caves gives it that darkness too). I looove the artwork for Heart of Devona. Looks great! Also love the concept of the Heart, that you communicate with it telepathically and it expolres your dreams and mind....awesome stuff. :) I'm actually making an animation at the moment and I'm stuck for inspiration for one of the locations, and this episode has given me great inspiration for cracking open the Location Crafter again and rolling up some stuff in there. I really love the Crafter series. I can recommend Creature Crafter and Adventure Crafter too. They're so great. :) Thanks again, Trevor :)

Lots of nasty surprises for Edbert in this episode. Loved the traps and the twist to getting out of this place alive! Getting the feeling that we are getting much closer to the Disaster Episode of the Season when this thing is unleashed on the Port! Is there something huge and lizard like trapped in the ice?! Devona is a nice twist for this season. Wasnt expecting to bump into her again. Liked the relationship between Devona, water and memories. I was thinking Edbert had to escape the Gray Mariner once Veil and co turned up and took command of the ship which is why they weren't far behind. It was only a day from Edbert on the shore to working his way onto the Drunken Ghoul. I cannot remember if Veil was onboard the Gray Mariner when Edbert was "saved" by Simon. Might have to re-watch that episode!

another wonderful chapter unfold to us this is amazing !!!!! i really support this show, the ice berg room is strange to me i remember the ghost that has been haunting him died in a snow mountain. and the room trying to pry his memory and what not i was like oh no.... what if the ghost come out at this moment trying to stop him as well and trying to stop him from gaining power or getting closer to his goal ?? but for sure this has been fun just to watch

I wonder if Devona will find Cherilyn in Edbert's head. I wonder if she'll be able to see HER memories. I wonder if SHE would want to defend Edbert, or perhaps release Devona. I wonder if Devona might mix their memories. Maybe let Cherilyn see her death from Edbert's POV. So much possibilities with a goddess and a powerful cleric competing in poor Edbert's head.

Devona being the patron goddess of Lizardfolk isn't even all that farfetched. Since the Lizardfolk can breathe underwater they are not negatively effected by floods and storms, so they would likely have a far different opinion on Devona than most. On top of that, The Archipelagos are practically infested with pirates who threaten the Lizardfolks lives and thus it would make sense for them to call on the great power of The Storms for aid.

For me, and I know it's only my opinion, Whitehack 3.0 (almost identical to 2.0), is a VERY versatile system that never really seems to get the attention that it deserves.

It's fun, I used to really enjoy this series but felt like the constant "threat" of random tangents leading into whole new quests was a bit distracting. Now that I've read a lot more literary fantasy (Earthsea, the Elric Chronicles, etc.) I can say it's not only a good way to keep the story moving but incredibly authentic to the genre :P

Fantasy aside, the basic physics there are only true if the two bodies are of the same density anyway (i.e. if we're not talking fresh water vs salt). So this could well be accidentally correct -- you know, the best kind!
