Aaron Pico is without a doubt the worst ever debut. He had full giant articles and promos calling him the best athlete AKA had ever seen, even Javier Mendez was saying Pico would go onto have a better career than Velasquez and then he got choked out in his debut in like 21 seconds
@panspermiapancakes

Pico is only 25 and 10-3 on a 6 fight win streak. When he does perform, it's usually like watching an art form. They might have pushed him a little too fast but I would have to agree here, his debut was hilariously disastrous and against a guy that was 8-2 and they made it seem like they found Zach Freeman on the streets. lol Edit: They even had him make his debut on one of the only PPV's attempts Bellator has done, and the entire event was a complete shitfest. They have an incredible amount of bad luck.

My favourite thing about whole CM Punk show is that guy had literally years to prepare and came looking like someone with no idea of basics like throwing a jab, a low kick, takedowns, ground and pound. I don't expect him to be Anderson Silva level of striking but damn, I've better fights on local shows where 40+ overweight dudes who train once a week try to do MMA.
@HarleyQuinnSoldier
@HarleyQuinnSoldier 2 жыл бұрын
@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 I just hope his training was better than Lesnar’s in the sense of jabs to the head being worked on since, according to a previous MMA On Point video, that was a major weakness of Lesnar’s & something he never trained on

@@mariuszpudzianowski8400 & I know Punk has some type of martial arts training even during his WWE days because in the documentary the company did on him it was brought up along with footage of him training at the dojo for the documentary(I can’t remember what it was called but I remember that much) so it’s not like Punk just dived head first into the shallow end. He had, to be fair & realistic, minimal experience prior to training camp days. I just think if they didn’t rush(?) his debut then it might’ve panned out differently & he might not be in AEW at the moment but that’s just a charitable thought

This list is pretty strong, but missing two major beatdowns. Two of the fights that could compete for number one are Moutinho vs O’Malley and Glenn vs Tucker (the real number 1). To those who saw the Moutinho fight, it could have been easily stopped multiple times and ended in a TKO with only 27 seconds left in the fight. O’Malley ended up out landing Moutinho in terms of significant strikes 230 to 70. The second that comes in off the top of my head and qualifies as number 1 in my book as it went to a decision is Glenn vs Tucker at UFC 215. Tucker came in undefeated, was the betting favorite, and the first round looked competitive for the first four minutes of the fight, Glenn then connected with a big left dropping Tucker, Tucker gassed in the 2nd, and after that it was entirely Rick Glenn handing out a brutal beatdown that only got worse as it went on. By the end of the fight, strike totals showed Tucker landing 43 of 105 and Glenn 184 of 289. This sounds like a beatdown, but the totals mask the brutality until you look at them round by round. Round 2 Tucker landed 4 total strikes of 15 thrown and in round three he landed 2 strikes while only throwing 9. Compare this to Glenn’s 35 of 58 in round two and 84 of 124 in round three. Dana tweeted after the fight, “Look at that poor kid’s face!!! The ref needs his ass whooped!!!!” The scorecards were odd, but ultimately scored: 30-24 (10-9, 10-8, and 10-7), 30-25 (10-9, 10-8, and 10-8) and 29-27 (9-10, 10-9, and 10-8). Tucker commented days after the fight, "I have 2 fractured orbital and another vertical fracture in the jaw according to the x ray/CT scan." Both are still in the UFC with Tucker going on to win his next three until his most recent 22 second KO loss to Dan Ige at Fight Night 187. Glenn’s last fight was a comeback majority draw against Grant Dawson. After losing the first two he rallied in the third to score a 10-8 and save the majority decision. Their records show this wasn’t a mismatch or squash match like the Moutinho vs O’Malley fight, but a legit beatdown of a talented fighter making his debut. Seriously if you haven’t seen this one, look it up, and you’ll see it’s the clear number one.

@@benschneider872 That's my mistake. Not having seen the fight in a while I though it was Tucker's debut, but he'd fought Sam Sicilia earlier that year. Good content but the soundtrack was a bit maddening - there’s a sound like a squeaky door opening - had me looking over my shoulder in my headphones ha ha!

Fighters know how to tap. Corners have towels they can throw in. If one of these fighters are too dumb to know when they have had enough thats on them and their corner. Dont pass the buck to the ref.

Is it just me or is this guys voice really annoying? Used to watch every video they put out but since they seem to be all done by this guy now I really can’t get through a full one, let alone watch a few a week
@Romanus-
@Romanus- 2 жыл бұрын
@@ronnie3044 yeh but we all know there is a stigma in tapping to strikes in mma. You get labeled soft immediately and lose fans. I’m not saying that’s right, it’s quite the opposite, but that’s just how it is unfortunately. Same with throwing the towel for corners. You see it constantly with boxing but maybe once or twice a year in all the major promotions combined

@@Romanus- If someone cares so much about some idiots calling them "soft" that they are willing to take an extended bleeding thats on them. And if the corner cares that little about their fighter than thats on them. The blame is always going to fall on the fighter and their corner. Doesnt matter what dumbass excuse they want to come up with.

Am I crazy to expect that a video about recorded fights would include video of recorded fights? It’s just a bunch a still images and talking. It would be a lot more interesting to SEE how people fared rather than just be told about it.

I have no idea why anyone would want to get into the UFC these days. There are so many divisions, fighters and belts . The fighters can't have the sponsor's they want and basically make no money.

I'd also add that the UFC cares more about having entertainers and having entertaining fights over just skilled fighters. They want more Conor mcgregor types that can talk shit to hype up fights and also fight in an entertaining way. Dana and UFC fans will boo fighters for being defensive or those who are experts in wrestling for being boring because in reality they want to see kicks and punches being thrown and blood being spilled.
