He struggled against southpaws, Conor was a Southpaw, Cowboy starts slow and struggles to get started, Conor is a fast starter. Cowboy struggles with the big occasions, Conor is the biggest occasion. Cowboy was done and everyone knew he was done. Everyone knew this before the fight and said this is exactly how it was going to play out and it did. Dana was even saying before the fight fans need to respect Cowboy more because nobody is giving him a chance. Yet after the fight the whole broadcast team was acting like they just witnessed the second coming of Christ. Stephen A was the only one to call bullshit. Plus you add in the fact Conor was meant to fight Gaethje 6 months earlier but had an injury so Cowboy stepped in then when everyone was expecting to finally get the Gaethje Conor fight it was announced that Conor would fight Cowboy the guy Gaethje knocked out and he would get a title shot with a win. The whole thing was embarrassing!!

Khabib said the ring card girls don't serve a function... then the ring card girls defended themselves by saying they bring eyes to the sport (They don't. The sport brings eyes to them and their social accounts.) and Valentina stood up for them by saying they're "Decorations". Much like an ornament, or piece of crystal that has no function or purpose other that to go "Oh that's nice". Everything runs the exact same with or without them. Proving Khabib's point. I dunno, Stephen did have some bad takes, like when he said “we didn’t learn anything from that fight” lol. Plus there’s a reason why you have a level of respect when reporting on fighters. It’s not basketball or football where you team is guaranteed games. If nobody wants to see you fight, you’re a lot less likely to be given high paying matches. So when you go over the top hyperbole, like saying one of the fighters is a quitter, you could be doing legitimate harm to that fighter’s career.

Which is warranted when you consider their fight history. I'm from Texas, Cowboy is my favorite fighter. He should never have been in there with McGregor. He chokes at the light and Connor WAS the light of the UFC at that time, he has trouble starting and Connor knocks people out at the start, he can't fight Southpaws well, Connor is the king of southpaw boxing with hard early starting in the UFC. I don't like Smith, but everything he said was correct and warranted, that fight should never have taken place.
