It's strange that in some spots Spotify says "we notified the company of fake streams" but in the next breath they say "we didn't tell them to take it down" and "there's no such thing as punishment." So wtf ARE you doing? Just letting them know about the fake streams for fun? So many people are being removed for "100% fake streams" which is clearly bs. I want some damn answers. I'm doubtful we'll get any tho, so let's get to selling straight to our fans instead.

I got one strike and recently got a warning on a song that didn’t get any bot plays at all, but a song that got added to a botted playlists without my consent hasn’t gotten flagged. Very strange on how it’s happening

it’s happening to all distributors . Soundcloud just took all my songs down. And still haven’t replied to support so I just unsubscribed. we all need to ban up and get a class action lawsuit going

I’m glad you’re being honest with that. I can’t understand how people still use that service after all those people complaining about getting banned. 2 years ago I got banned for no reason and now it’s even worse seeing how many people are getting their music taken down…

My suggestions are Landr and Ditto if you need a subscription option or CD baby and Landr for pay per single/album Personally I use all the 3 and never had any problems so far

They just did this to me. I have never used fake streams. I reached out to Spotify and no one cares. It's sad that us artist have to go through that when we just want our music to be heard. They make us pay them all this money and we can't even get a couple dollars 😂😢

Distrokid is literally the biggest scammer of all the distribution companies too. I would NEVER work with them again. I used them to distribute music for 5 years and they continually started scamming for extra money and fees every single year and it just got worse and worse. I hope they go out of business and artists become cognizant of their entire scam. There are many KZbinrs who have done cost benefit analyses of using DK versus other distributors and you will see that in the long term Distrokid just bilks artists. They also unfairly penalize artists when artists start getting popular and falsely accuse them of artificial streams and then take their music off the platform just to save them from having to pay royalties to the artists. They claim Spotify flags "artificial" streaming but then when you go and talk to Spotify customer support they tell you they haven't flagged or reported anything and nothing looks "suspicious" on their end, confirming that Distrokid just lies to their own users and artists to get out of having to pay them anything. They will keep you down. I moved our entire catalogue of hundreds of songs over to another distributor and I couldn't be happier. I hope someone sues Distrokid to kingdom come.

Which distributer can I move my music too? I don't understand why they said to my husband you can leave your music with us for a life time legacy for 49 dollars but they charged me r2400 a year for yearly fees and now that I wanted to take my money out they will only pay me 20 cents for my album.

I just released a song for distribution on distrokid with a well established artist and now they're telling me they can't release it to stores because the featured artist needs to verify it's actually him but when I told them I have proof they said no that the featured artist needs to reply to us directly but I've been out of contact with the featured artist since we finished the song and he isn't responding so how am I supposed to release my song. I think it's just distrokid's way to save face from having to pay me the royalties from the song getting over hundreds of streams

Tunecore just got sued for 500 million by a major label, not sure of the specifics but it was something to do with them collecting royalties for work owned by the major(s) I believe. I have music on Tunecore but I never made any $$ from it there. Not sure if people just don't like it or it's something else.

Sadly, I might be doing the same thing pretty soon. I'm uploading an album with previously released tracks that I released before and they're telling me that I can only release a track with samples from Splice, Sound, and such when only a month ago, I released that track before with the same samples and they didn't have a problem.

So there are a few things about this that I don't understand and this is why I prefer companies with live support - at least for situations as severe as this... With a live rep you could email screenshots of your ad campaigns, correspondence with Spotify and other supporting documents to show that there's no foul play involved and move right along... They could also email you a warning and just pass the fine along to end user if it ever happens and treat them like strikes - so many strikes and you're kicked from the platform... The worst part of all this is that I've been hearing people having this issue, who have run legit ad campaigns, just for Distrokid and/or Tunecore to then withhold their earnings - even thought there was no foul play... Hopefully you all ban together and do a class action lawsuit.

Amuse did the same to me. I have never asked for mony of my music. I have never get some mony. I pain for a year. But all my music was taken down after 2 mounts :/ I didint get a refound. Its a jugle out there, and im the new kid out there.

It happend to me, but with Tunecore. It was my first album, it barely had a few thousand streams & got notified of fake streams. They took it down & charged me 10$ per track & because I didn’t have that much in my Tunecore acount, they took money from my credit card. If I knew, I would’ve removed my payment method
