Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

You are so good with your kids… Very supportive. What you said about them playing with the four wheelers being better than computer games is so true.

Some of the computer errors might be caused by simply starting to fast. When you start while the computers are still powering on you mess with the voltage of the system, computers can't handle that. This worsens when voltage is already low. This used to cause all kinds of errors on my (european)truck. So I'd suggest to just turn the key to power on, wait for stuff to boot up, and then start. maybe it works, maybe there's other issues, but it won't hurt anyhing to try :)

As a software developer, I'd say the planter + tractor system startup is designed by the manufacturer to have a repeatable startup time. And any time the system allows a start, the engine is ready to turn over and *should* be OK to start - even if the monitors are still powering up. Any deviation as seen here is caused by leakage in the wiring or bad connections. If it improves later, the leak / moisture problem resolved itself, and may or may not continue to give problems on future startups.

Our tractor does the same thing. The tech came out and said it’s the iso bus connection in the back. Everything communicates through the iso bus and if that plug in the back goes bad then nothing will communicate properly.

Well Zack I'm at Kenworth I see a problem you're only running three batteries in it and that's okay for running down Arizona and the warmer States in the winter but you're in the colder climate so you need to add a fourth battery to it and I'll bet that'll make a big difference for your starting that truck instead of having to boost it all the time

It always drove me nuts as my dad would do the same even after telling him what I was planning to do that day he would come usually when I had something half apart to want me to come and so something else. Currently I am missing that as after not even slowing down as he fought prostate cancer off he is currently in hospital several stone lighter fighting against stomach cancer. We are only a small farm but even surrounded by family the farm feels empty which is something I think some people seem to forget about family firms a bit like when reporters keep questioning the next 2 in line for the throne about how much they are looking forward to it seeming to forget that they are basically asking how much they're looking forward to their family kicking the bucket. Treasure every moment.

Friday 12th August 11:00pm. Ten minutes into our wonderful 2 & 1/2 inch rain storm here in KATY, TEXAS 77493 last evening it was evident that this system was several miles wide and everyone in our area would get over 2 inches of rain. The rain fell so fast it ran off quickly and even the dry ditches soaked up all the water by noon today so Katy remains under mandatory water restrictions for irrigation of lawns, and trees and so forth. It was good to see you are getting some things done around the farm. I predict your new planter for 2023 will remain 60 foot wide but have a left & a right seed hoppers and controls so not so many openers for each control box to control. Still hot in TEXAS, RICE HARVEST CONTINUES:

Thanks for another great video Zach. It was interesting and enjoyable. Thanks for being supportive of onyx’s ideas to keep busy around farm with his four wheeler and such. Involves the girls also and his neighbor farm friends also so that is a win win. Better than watching tv and doing games. Thanks dad. And mom. Your yard area is looking better getting all the small stuff picked up. With the gravel trucks and heavy equipment coming is a good thing to have done. And moving your gas tanks will be a project all in its own. I suppose you need them empty to move them. Lot to do to get ready for the new shed. These new tractors and computers are hard to deal with at times. Could not believe the trouble you were having just moving the tractor. Wow. Looking forward to watching all your new construction. Your farmstead yard will look different with the new storage building and gas tanks moved and propane tank moved also. Give you a new look and more room inside. Nice. About it for now I guess. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Good to see your dad around. Nice man. Enjoy him. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Then got the dream job of working at the local "green tractor" dealer in NC... from tobacco fields to an air-conditioned truck delivering tractors. A teenager's dream job. Now I run a mortgage company as a "hobby" while my full time job is planting food plots on my hunting lease with my little orange tractor and grow deer that Onxy would laugh at. I noticed on a video that I was watching, you were working on a combine header and someone said don't drop any parts. Growing up on a farm some 50-60 yr. ago, I remember that my Dad always had an approximately 10 x 10' good vinyl and canvas tarp that he always took to the field. He would place in on the ground under the part we were working on to catch any dropped parts. It usually worked fine. The only new machine I remember was a 1952? John Deer 55 with I think had a 14' header. I have a picture of my Dad cutting wheat when it was 25 yrs old, he had a bit of the Scottish blood In his veins. When my dad retired in 2008 at the ripe old age of 80 his current combine was an early 80's 6600. Fun while it lasted. PS my Family Tree goes back to the Mayflower and early 1600's. GR

Just wanted to mention. Welker’s don’t have codes fault frequently with the Red Machines. I understand you’re a “Green Farm “ but it happens more with Green on EVERY FARMER CHANNEL THERE’S MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH GREEN DEER 🦌 AND FENDT. Maybe you can get a Demo for the next round in Red and see what a difference it is to have equipment that just works when you want to work. God Bless you guys!😌🖖🏼🇺🇸❤️

@mikea hiooi yeah maybe i should! After all, I do only live about 1 hour away from their farm because i live in Minnesota. XD take care! And I've got chickens before but since I live in the country, there where all sorts of critters that got them.

I work in trucking, and I thought all the sensors and def was maddening enough on the new equipt/engines. I don’t have the patience you do Zach with all those fault codes / messages.

A suggestion asfar as Green Lightning: dump an entire can of seafoam in the gas tank and run 2 tanks like that. Cleared out my mower doing that
