Enjoyed your video. Great introduction to the spaces. I'm wondering if putting in a different floor rather than carpeting would be a better idea, for maintenance, durability, cleaning. Vinyl plank flooring might be a good alternative. At about $2 a square foot, waterproof, durable, easy to clean, 25-year warranty, some beautiful wood pattern finishes, and you can install it yourself. I've hit the subscribe button and the bell. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Hello Karen! Looking forward to all of your future videos. You are very lucky to have lake shore at the back of your property. Are you located in the Great Lakes area of the United States? I was thinking the same thing as The Mainer about not putting in carpeting. I've seen vinyl plank flooring at Walmart and even Dollar General. One KZbinr even replaced their old bathtub surround with the same vinyl floor planking they used to replace the bathroom flooring. It gave the bathroom a very clean and neat appearance.

Hi thank you so much. I live in North Carolina, properties with lakes are not very common in my area so i was super excited to be able to purchase this. I am going to get the waterproof planks in the bathrooms the kitchen and the living room. However the bedrooms we decided to get the carpet. We have a 5 year plan to live in this mobile home then hopefully building our permanent home. This is just what made financial sense for us at the moment. We are so excited you are watching and thank you for the input. 😀

Great trailer. Could you take the decals off the glass cabinet doors with stripper and then add those vinyl pane dividers which would make the glass look like the old farm house windows? You could even make them out of small wood trim. It would stick using clear silicone caulk. I would keep them but just change their style. 😊

Karen, wow! This looks great so far. I would suggest taking out that entire area where the washer and dryer are now and then putting new stackable front loading units in the master bath. It’s so easy to move plumbing and electrical in mobile homes because it’s all accessible underneath. That would add so much value and really modernize the kitchen, dining, living area into a huge and beautiful “great room”. I love the slider going in from the back giving a lake view, perhaps look at adding two more sliders, or floor to ceiling windows directly next to this one giving an amazing view of the beautiful lake from the dining and living room. Who needs TV when you OWN that view!!!! Great video! Can’t wait to see the EPIC transformation! LIKED and SUBSCRIBED!

You don’t have to switch out glass doors. That stuff will scrape off. You can also remove glass and get thin wood from Lowes and add to them. Use a product called no sand on cabinets. I then used a very expensive paint from sherwin wms because I got a large discount. You can paint over that metal looking trim on kitchen cabinets. I have a 1993 home made by the Amish. I bought new and have over the years completely remodeled just to keep up to date. Door handles, hinges, light switches, pergo floors. You can make it beautiful. People see mine and say this isn’t a trailer? Good luck.

Homeowner here. My husband is retirement age but I’ve got 10 more years to go. I’m in the downsizing stage of my life and I can’t wait to do it. Unfortunately we will never be able to purchase a older home that requires work as my husband is far from handy.
