I have a mobile home and I am a divorced woman. I came across your videos when I wanted to save money and learn how to fix things myself after things started going wrong in my mobile home due to age and poor quality installs and/or repairs done previously. This was not only helpful, but I absolutely adored how you and your husband were working together on his English. I’m an English teacher, so I hope this means something, but he has such a good grasp of English sentence structure and a really strong vocabulary! He has no reason to be nervous!😊 I like how you helped him sometimes, too! This was so endearing to me!

Your husband did a great job on the explanation and the removal and reinstall of the toilet! That is a really cool toilet too. It’s an Eljer Savoy from the early to mid 1990’s. They have good flushes but from my experience, they can clog easily sometimes since it’s one of those early 1.6 gallon per flush toilets. The 1.6 gallon per flush toilets were mandated in 1994 in residential buildings and in commercial buildings, they were mandated in 1997. In other words, toilets made before these time periods used 3.5 gallons per flush or more but toilets that used 3.5 gallons per flush became illegal during those said years due to the 1.6 gallons per flush or less law (if you know what I mean). Personally, I have had much better experience with the older 3.5 or more toilets as they are harder to clog than newer 1.6 or less toilets. Great video btw!

His English is better than my Spanish! 😂 Back in our younger days, hubby and I gutted our first mobile home to the studs and we had three little ones running around! Just an FYI, You can paint the hideous wallpaper too. It takes paint well with no chipping. If the walls are sound, I would advise not taking it to the studs. They don't hold regular drywall. Hubby and I had to find a workaround and used thin 8x4 sheets of smooth backer board.

Omg, I want to learn Spanish and it’s very daunting. I can’t even imagine learning English as an adult. We have no real rhyme or reason in the way our language is set up. It is definitely something to be proud of!

Personally, I am amazed you still have the original flush handle! I have lived in my 1998 for 18 years, and I have had to replace my flush kit and handle at least 3 or more times! Good idea to paint it! Your husband did a great job with just first video in English!

Traffic master is the name on the box. I got it at home depot it was pretty cheap. I have another video that showes what the box looks like. Its the video dedicated to the floor. Hope all goes well with you new toilet. 🙂

A question for your hubby. How did he put the drainage hose on top of the floor. Do u have to take it off nd put it on top or what was the process to that part?

So that top piece is called the flange. We did not have to change ours becuase it was in good condition but if you need to change it. Take the wax off and there will be some screws holding the flange to the floor remove the screws and the flange should come right out. You may need to pry it off but it should come out easy. It has a rubber "stopper"on the bottom that helps seal with the PVC that is going to the septic/sewer.

I'm sure there are videos on here about that. Just search replacing the flange under the toilet. Something should pop up. Hopereplacing it easy for you. 😁
