I had my toilet replaced in a bath remodel in my 1999 mh and one of the workers on the remodeling project said that they did not install the toilet correctly. And now I get sewer gases - do you know what could be causing it exactly?

How much should I charge for a job like this on 2 toilets ??

Service call plus labor & materials. You never know what's there until you open up that floor. Good luck with your project.

That Home was built in 1971 and I don't think there is a straight wall in it. We were also dealing with three layers of subflooring. The repair we made was solid and safe. I don't think that a "square " would have made any difference.

Don’t caulk the base. When if it leaks again it’s going to trap the water and rot the flour AGAIN help prevent the problem.

@Patrick Peterson I caulk all around toilet except back behind it so if it does leak you'll see it come from the back and it still looks complete and nice on the viewable sides

I'm new to mobile homes. Is there any difference in the toilets for mobile homes vs block homes? Or are they all the same.

I need to replace my 2003 DW Moble home toilet. I am looking to Purchase one . I am wondering the same question. Can you just get one for a block home or do I need to Purchase a special one for mobile homes.

To both of you I believe any toilet works. I have replaced mine in a few different mobile homes and I don't look for anything special besides the ring/gasket size. I believe most are the same if not all are the same. Besides the super high end fancy toilets like an electronic one but then again I would assume it's the same as well. Universal type stuff to fit any toilet opening. Just as piping is usually the same across the board. Plumbing unless specially fitted are the same for mobile homes and houses alike.

@@jordanlundy8796 Universal fitting sizes yes. However, many Mobile & Manufactured Homes have much smaller bathrooms. For example, I'm attempting to replace tank to seat gasket & bolts. I can barely get my shoulder into the space between toilet & vanity cabinet. Now, the 1 size fits all gasket doesn't sit securely, so now it's leaking from the middle & both bolts 😳

Smaller Bathroom fixtures have been prevalent especially in older Mobile Homes. However, this depends largely on the Home Manufacturer or House Developer. When renovating, I guess it's just personal preference & cost.

I would imagine a Plumbing Contractor would charge for cost of the Toilet and a Service Call.
