Today's mock test is with my brother Sam, who has had a full driving licence for over 13 years. He mainly drives an automatic car, but does have a full manual licence.

In Belgium and the Netherlamds is a serious fault if you dont keep both hands on the wheel. You fail your driving test if you dont hold both hands on the wheel. Only for changing gears you can the one hand off, but directly than put it back again on the steering wheel.

He should have both hands on the steering wheel at all times, apart from when changing gears, indicating or using other buttons on car. He hasn't full control of the car with only one hand on the wheel. That's how I was taught anyway.

Make sure you take a driving lesson before your test. Have a bottle of water or drink, I actually drank red bull lol kept me alert 😂 and I had sweets Also, if you do make a mistake don't think you've failed, it could just be a minor. Another thing I will say is, if your at junctions or crossing, and if you can't see ahead , stay back as long as you can, you don't want to rush out, you rather get a minor for waiting than a major for causing obstruction. You will be fine, don't worry, ❤🙏 Oh one more thing, show me tell me questions, if you don't know, just say sorry I don't know. You will only get a minor for it. Good luck 🤞🏼

Don't rush. If it helps, speak out loud what you're thinking and what you're going to do in advance. This can help to put the examiner at ease. And above all else, although it may sound crazy now, try and enjoy it as much as possible. Best of luck.

i genuinely dont get why you can get your license and then its for life. there should be repeat tests every 10 years or so, especially as people get older. once my siblings and i were adults, i noticed a change in my parent's driving, way less caution... plus, when they took their tests there was no theory test! Just the practical. Quizzed them on a few questions when I was studying for them and they had no clue for most of them lol

12 years he been driving wrong way.. should not put his leg on the clutch lever all the time.. And should not depress it all the time while braking. Should not keep his hand on the gear lever all the time, unless he's changing the gears often.. contradictory stuff.. He doesn't drive agressive as per this video, but his foot, hand position indicates so.. while driving too close, taking too sharp turns etc does so..

Relax. Don't overthink. If you need to, ask the examiner to clarify or repeat instructions (no matter how many times), the examiner will open a bit of dialog with you - take that as their attempt to being friendly. if you want you can have your instructor in the vehicle with you, if you have a lesson beforehand & then take that time to relax & calm down. If something does go wrong (especially if it's not your fault) - DON'T PANIC - the examiner will be trained for most scenarioes. Finally, good luck!!! Hope you pass

I know it's not the real test, but anyway - you shouldn't tell him anything and comment his driving during the test (like you said about 20 mph zone, or keeping the distance, etc). And question... before one roundabout in my opinion he used left indicator to early, because before this roundabout was a turn left and drivers behind could think he wants to turn left before roundabout.

Are automatic cars becoming more normal in the uk? I noticed most (all?) of your mock tests use manuals, but you said your brother mostly drives automatic. I am from the U.S. and almost no one drives manual here, although there is no separate license for manual/automatic, so I guess maybe in the uk people that mostly drive automatic still want the manual license just in case?

Autoboxes are much convenient tbh. While I'm still old school wherein I prefer manual, cause of the sense of control of the vehicle I drive, regular folks just don't want to get fatigued by using the clutch (which I agree can be a pain during heavy traffic).
