Hey guys, thanks for joining me on this journey through the Hunger Games franchise! It's bee a lot of fun and I hope you enjoyed these reactions. As stated in the video, this reaction has no memes/funny edits inserted due to the fact the subject matter of this film relates a lot to what's going on in the world. It didn't feel appropriate to make light of such a heavy and tense subject matter. I've added some links in the bio of some instagram accounts / petitions / sites etc relating to the crisis of what's going on in Palestine. Check them out if you want to get involved in getting a ceasefire! Sending you all lots of love and light, catch you in the next video!

I'm so glad that you said your piece about everything that is happening in Palestine and Ukraine right now. Especially about Palestine, people are giving excuses for everything Israel is doing, based on religion and prejudice, they're excusing genocide just because christians still see Israel as the promised land, and the people choose by God. They are just forgetting that they don't even believe in Jesus Christ, that God would never accept genocide and that they are literally bombing hospitals and children, that's inexcusable. And I'm really glad the people I follow and like (like you) are all taking the right side of history.

the contrast between katniss in the beginning of the first movie saying she didn't want kids because she couldn't fathom raising them in her world, to the end of this movie with two children in their family's arms. absolute cinema

It always amazes me how people can watch movies about resistance to totalitarianism and cheer on freedom fighters like Luke Skywalker and Katniss Everdeen, and still not support the rights of real life people living under opression. Some people just do the double think so good. Thank you for reacting to this franchise, and speaking up for Palestine and all other people living under opression and genocide right now.

This feels so much realer with everything that's going on in Palestine and Ukraine right now. It's truly horrible, and both wars need to end now. I don't understand why people ship Katniss and Gale. Gale is bitter to begin with. He is so focused on his resentment for the Capitol (a justified feeling, to be sure), and the war just grows that to a totally truly horrifying level. Plus, Katniss herself already has anger issues from the very beginning. Her with Gale would just be anger on top of anger. A toxic pairing. Katniss needs someone to bring light into her life. Someone to mellow her out. Someone who isn't a jealous asshole either. Peeta is the only choice for her. That's even before Gale almost assuredly was involved in Prim's killing.
@sarahmoller7308 Жыл бұрын
Plus Peeta knows exactly how it feels to survive the actual hunger games, he was in the arena two times; together with Katniss. So he shares this horrible experience with her. Gale has no clue what it is like.

What about Arcax situation?
@mandipandi303 Жыл бұрын
@@sarahmoller7308 Exactly. Not only does Peeta know what it's like to be in the arena, he knows what it's like to experience the Capitol! Katniss often thinks about how Effie and her team aren't bad people, and how they're heartbroken for her and Peeta in Catching Fire. One of the team runs from the room sobbing when she sees Katniss and Peeta in bed together. Katniss is angry when Coin literally TORTURES her prep team in Thirteen. Gale doesn't give a shit. Katniss points out how hard they worked to help her survive and how much they cared, and that the same was true for Peeta. Gale is like, "They support the Capitol. I don't care how they were raised. They deserve torture." He has no nuance and no empathy for people outside his experience. Katniss votes yes for the Capitol Hunger Games to make Coin complacent. Gale would've voted yes genuinely for revenge. Their relationship would've been absolutely HORRIBLE.

I’m so glad you’re talking about the parallels to the current genocides happening in our world. I’ve loved your reactions and the comparisons you’ve drawn to the real world. I can imagine you’d be such an interesting person to have conversations with, your compassion and humanity is also so welcome to watch when there’s so much hate in the world right now.

I appreciate how often you iterate that films like this (i.e. dystopian movies/books) are inherently based on reality. It may all be fictional, but it's rooted in the harsh truth of what is currently happening. I cried a lot with you for this reaction. I'm grateful you're so honest about your tears cause it makes me feel less embarrassed for crying a ton when watching literally anything lol

one last fact .. the guard who told Katniss that she couldn't enter the place were Snow was (when he told her he had nothing to do with the bomb ) is actually a french singer and the son of one of the most popular singer in France called Johnny Hallyday and the guard name is David Hallyday that was a big shock for the french audience to see him in the Hunger Games .. but also really cool and the kiss between Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson was improvised

yeah, so like mockingjay have always been my favorite book of the whole trilogy. The way Suzanne writes about the repercutions and traumas that come with war its just UGH. The weight of sadness that comes with it and the fact that it's not about a full happy ending, its about that feeling of rebuilding and finding something good among the pain. Love your commentary here, so glad you've speaked up so much about what's going on ❤
@INKSTARS11388 ай бұрын
Gale's "death of character" is why Katniss has to choose Peeta. Despite his flaws and the danger of his brainwashing, Peeta represents peace and moving forward. Because of his nature, (the desire to punish the Capitol, including putting their children into their own version of the Hunger Games) which becomes worse than defiant over time, Gale represents everything Katniss wants to leave behind. At the end, even most of his kindness is gone. I do absolutely get, early on, why people might prefer him over Peeta, because Peeta seems weak, and Gale defiant and strong. But at the end of the story, every day, Peeta chooses not to enact the violence in his brain. Gale does not. And there's also the fact that Peeta was in the Games, and the Quarter Quell with Katniss, he knows everything she went through. Gale doesn't. So while he might have sympathy (for Katniss) he doesn't understand the pain with the same depth Peeta does.

"My dear Ms. Everdeen... I thougth we had agreed never to lie to each other." You may say what you will about Snow, but he was, all throughout, quite genuine in his intentions and motives; transparent. And he lent the courtesy to Katniss to treat her with a modicum of respect and transparency. He was a child-murdering tyrant, sure, but he was always aware of that; he never deceived himself into believing otherwise. He even acknowledged the merit behind Coin's treachery with dignity.

Finnick death is still hard to digest.. and i think Suzanne Collins even say she regret his death but i'm glad that Gale and Katniss end that way he wasn't what she needed he really wasn't and Prim all of that started because Katniss wanted so save her but she end up dying anyway.. that's horrible

At the end of the books and the movies I always wondered: how in the world was Katniss able to continue living? I mean after all she's been through. And then I remember the horrendeous things I went through in my past and that even though I'm still traumatized by it I'm still standing, still breathing, still pushing through. I guess it's just not possible to live life whithout getting seriously hurt along the way... some more, some less. 💔
