Not trying to start an argument or tell you what to do, but I dont get why people use Maya for modelling over 3ds Max, I'm still a noob in 3D modelling but after getting a bit used to 3ds, no way I can bother modelling in Maya anymore, it's just too destructive, limited, clunky, slow, I hate splines in Maya, its "smart extrude" sucks, as do booleans, and modifiers in 3ds are so hella cool and extremely convenient, I just wish that Autodesk would release a "new" DCC that's simply the best of both programs fused into one, I love Maya's interface in general, but yeah, 3ds and even Blender destroy it when it comes to 3D modelling

yet its the industry standard…blender is a toy open source application that is unstable and unreliable…Maya kills 3ds on animation also. Try getting a job in animation by saying you dont use Maya.

I mean yeah it works, but 3ds is so much better for modelling, splines, modifiers, booleans, smart extrude, real world scaling (no wonder no one uses Maya for archviz), etc. I love Maya's interface, I wish I could use only it, but 3ds modelling tools are too tempting and handy for me to pass, and I hate the delete history stuff you constantly have to do in Maya. I hope that Autodesk add these things from 3ds to Maya, I hate Blender so I'm never using it but it's clear that it also beats Maya when it comes to modelling (and sculpting)

@@wallacesousuke1433I feel different modeling in 3Ds max wasn’t the greatest to me coming from Maya sure some stuff was cool but I just prefer the feel of Maya over Max any day
