Thank you for the wonderful information. I looked up and have been eating good. I know many great foods. But don't know how to put together great meal plan. Can True North help me. I'm willing to do tellahealth.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
It couldn't hurt to give them a call. They'll assess your situation to determine if it's a good fit for you. I'd love to do it for sure. Dr Goldhamer also has a book called "The Health-Promoting Cookbook" that may be good: amzn.to/491z5Me If the "only" thing you're needing is a meal plan then a dietitian who practices lifestyle medicine or nutritionist may be a good option too. But I assume TrueNorth would be a fantastic option. It's mostly about fasting, which is great for even healthy people for more than a day or so I believe should be medically supervised. But, they also have classes and I can only imagine they must teach you how to plan because it's an important part of starting and breaking a fast. I'd love to know what you end up doing.

I’m glad the interviewer brought up the topic of greens. I really love the food I make. I’m a fairly new vegan and I hate to shop. I love this way of eating but having to go shopping more often for fresh vegetables has been a challenge for me. The Dr. has given me a few ideas about growing vegetables but living on the Oregon Coast in the winter (dark and rainy) might be a bit of a challenge. On the other hand, we usually have mild winter’s temperature wise, so maybe I’ll try some cool vegetable plants like kale, cabbage and such.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
Yeah you should be able to rock some kale! And different varieties maybe, and maybe even some romaine. That's what I would love to grow and eat the most of. I love me a good dark romaine! I could eat a whole head of that stuff a day easily if I had it coming to me. I love Joanne Farb's garden I got to see you earlier this. I need to release that one! I'm pretty sure I covered her greens if I recall correctly. That was back in April. I still have an edited that video! It's going to be included in a series of videos about raising children vegan.

I live in the Willamette Valley and built a greenhouse, originally to grow garden starts, but now have greens growing this winter. If you have the wherewithal to construct a greenhouse (mine is 6'x10') it may be worth your while.

Maybe frozen greens and fruits are an option you can store better for longer.
@VeganLinkedАй бұрын
@@xperience-evolution I'm not aware of a way to freeze romaine, mixed greens, arugula, etc... the heartier greens can be, but those tend to be higher in oxalates and not really good for a salad.

I appreciate his promotion of a plant-based diet, but (like all medical doctors) he also promotes the same lies about vegans needing B12 supplements. If he’s been plant-based since 1975, I highly doubt he was taking any B12 way back then, as it wasn’t even being promoted until the last 20 years. So how has he survived all this time without it? It’s a fact that Vitamin B12 never existed until it was created in a drug lab out of raw cow's liver and antibiotics. It's now made out of fecal bacterial flora from sewage sludge, GMO bacteria, coal tar and whey/dairy waste. Long-term vegans have been thriving never taking B12.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
@@harveyplantharvester1502 That's a fair question but B12 supplements came out in the late '40s. Furthermore he may have had B12 stores in the liver from previous consumption before going vegan. And this could have held him over for many years without supplementation. Also there were already foods fortified with B12 long before he went vegan. And some may have a unique ability to compensate. The body only needs 2.5 micrograms. So it's likely a combination of his body going into reserves and getting it from fortified Foods.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
@@harveyplantharvester1502 it's also worth mentioning when people have severe symptoms like anemia that get resolved with B12 supplementation it's not just this conspiracy dribble. And deficiency can result in much worse than that even before realizing it. I'm not risking stomach cancer, neurological problems or getting a heart condition so I simply supplement this water soluble vitamin to ensure I'm getting adequate amounts. It's not like some new fad. It was discovered practically 80 years ago and has been thoroughly tested and implemented without reason to fear.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
@@harveyplantharvester1502 lastly it's far more natural to take the supplement directly than through the blood, guts and gore of an animal that was invariably supplemented since the majority of supplements go to livestock.
@harveyplantharvester15022 ай бұрын
@@VeganLinked I got into veganism in 1982 in California -- there was NO talk or promotion of "Vitamin B12" at that time, never heard of it until recently. And that's another myth that your body "stores it up" from eating meat -- there's no beneficial bacteria in a rotting corpse. What stores up in the the liver is the SYNTHETIC supplement - very toxic. Show me ONE person who got rid of "anemia" with a synthetic supplement. You're just repeating all the lies of the drug companies and animal agriculture.
@harveyplantharvester15022 ай бұрын
@@VeganLinked It's a lie that humans get any "beneficial bacteria" (or magic vitamin) from a rotting putrefying animal corpse, it contains NOTHING humans need. Another lie to make you think it's normal & necessary to eat meat.
