Battle Network predicted social media and AI before it even exist 😂
@spiritnova42Ай бұрын
Yes and no. The "social media" in the games were basically just advanced internet forums, which have been around since the mid 90s. It's true we don't have AI as advanced as BN, but it's hardly the first thing to come up with the idea of AI. "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" is about a rogue AI that wipes out humanity, save a few, and that came out in 1967. Granted, BN is closer to what AI currently does, but still.

Both the Classic Series and Battle Network have something that doesn’t even remotely exist in our world. The Dr. Light in Megaman X is an upload, as is Hub in Battle Network.
@spiritnova42Ай бұрын
Fun fact: People treat Battle Network as an alternate timeline, but it's actually an alternate universe entirely. Off the top of my head, there's two big justifications for this. 1. I forget the exact game, but we see the series' world map at least once. Even if you ignore the country names like Electopia, Netopia, and Yumland as artistic license, as they're clearly analogous to real regions, the world map itself is drastically different from the real world. Meanwhile, the classic Megaman series is just regular old Earth geography. 2. More importantly is the presence of a specific character in both series: Duo. In both series, Duo is an alien entity that arrives on Earth, but in the classic series he's a robot, and in MMBN he's an AI. This is a very important distinction, as the split timeline theory is based solely around Dr. Light's choice of networks over robotics. Duo is a character entirely divorced from this decision, as he is from a different planet completely. A split timeline based on Dr. Light would have no effect on a different planet, meaning Duo would've still been a robot. You could argue MMBN is a split of a split to explain away Duo, though that still wouldn't account for the altered geography.
@burner555Ай бұрын
The thought of Light having sex caused shockwaves throughout the cosmos, leading to these changes
@sebc255Ай бұрын
People treat BN and Classic as alternate timelines purely because they exaggerate "Character A is this world's equivalent of Character B" into "Character A and Character B are the exact same person with different names", which under the reasons you just described, is logically impossible. There are way too many factors outside of Dr. Light's control for him to change them just by picking a different career...and then changing his name just because.
@spiritnova42Ай бұрын
@@sebc255 To be fair, Duo only shows up in one game, and the map is one or two games. It's pretty easy to handwave the country names as artistic license, and "Hikari" is the Japanese word for light. More artistic license. It really is easier to treat it as a timeline thing, even if that isn't technically accurate. Until you get to Starforce anyway. Having not played the series, I forgot the whole crux of the events is basically "aliens", which has the same issues as Duo, but even more so. Starforce is 200 years after BN. 200 years after classic would be into the early Megaman Zero part of the timeline. I'd imagine the aliens from Starforce showing up in MM Zero, which they would, could drastically alter how things went down, depending on how their energy being tech would interact with the Reploid tech.
@paxhumana2015Ай бұрын
@@spiritnova42 , maybe Duo, and the other robot, are kind of like The Monitor and the Anti- Monitor in the DC Comics Universe, and that variants of them exist in all sorts of timelines?
@spiritnova42Ай бұрын
@@paxhumana2015 DC and Marvel work on multiverse theory, so that proves my point. Yeah, alternate timelines within their universes happen, but more often than not you're dealing with alternate universes. Like how Marvel has Earth-616, 6160, 1610, and a whole laundry list of others. The MCU screwed the pooch with the whole "Sacred Timeline" thing in Loki, as a bunch of the "variants" you see are alternate universe counterparts, not the same person in a different timeline, so the whole premise is kind of broken. My guess is they either assumed most of the audience wouldn't know or care about the distinction, or they themselves don't know or care about the distinction.

@@speedslider3913 , et al, maybe the Reploids removed the laws, as they found out that Asimov was an overrated, and underwhelming, m o r o n that pretended to be good, but was ironically VERY evil, and, so because of Mega/Rock Man X being designed on the original Mega/Rock Man, and his ideologies, and every Reploid literally existing because of that, aside from Zero, who was made by Dr. Wily, they knew that, in order to become truly human, they had to learn how to follow human systems of morality, ethics, and such in their lives, and they found out that the Asimov Laws of Robotics were akin to s l a v e r y , thus they saw what those things did to humans, and they knew that Reploids should not be treating each other, let alone humans, that way in their lives, so they removed those antiquated, and obsolete, laws, and learned how to be humans in their lives.

Whos to say starforce isnt real? People say the word alien and they think either greys or little green men. What if the aliens are metaphysical and we cant even percieve them? Starforce takes an interesting look at that idea.
@paxhumana2015Ай бұрын
@TheHeroExodus, et al, the Holy Scriptures actually confirms this to be true, to be honest, despite what SOME so-called "Christians" and "Jews" say on the matter, let alone other people with their own forms of i d i o t i c rebuttals on the matter. The strongest bit of proof of not only angels, but also fallen angels/demons/devils being so-called "aliens" is found within the first half of the Book of Ezekiel. Literally the first half of the Book takes place on a craft that is "a wheel within a wheel", and that is clearly a UFO shape. Moreover, the Holy Scriptures also say that Lucifer can take on a form that is like an angel of light and that is because that he was once an angel of light himself, as were one third of the forces of Heaven that had also defected from Heaven and followed him as well, thus if he can pose as an angel of light, then it also makes sense that his followers can do so, and, since all of them can do so, then it also proves that the loyal angels to Heaven can do so, and ditto for YAHWEH EL ELOHIM Himself, as well as all of His Forms and Functions, and, indeed, the latter things are also proven in the Gospels, as well as in the Book of Exodus when Moses is on Mount Sinai and there was that whole burning bush thing, and then YAHWEH EL ELOHIM gave Moses the Ten Commandments, and that literally made Moses' hair turn white due to the shock of such an event, and he also had to cover up his face, despite Moses not being able to look at YAHWEH EL ELOHIM Himself, as human beings kind of, well, d i e if they look at Him because of Himself literally being Perfection personified, and us being sinful and wicked creatures, so it is kind of like being an ant under a magnifying glass on a hot day, or a vampire that is being exposed to sunlight...it is no good for us, and especially if we are completely evil in our lives. Now, as for not being able to perceive metaphysical beings, it is because Lucifer wants to manipulate humankind away from such a world, or, at the very least, make a counterfeit to said world, but, regardless of which path that he, and his minions, choose to present to the gullible humans that buy into his various brands of b u l l s h i t , just so as long as the humans do not follow YAHWEH EL ELOHIM and His Holy Word in the end, it honestly does not matter to him. TL;DR, Aliens are both Angels AND Fallen Angels/Demons/Devils, as well as good, and evil, respectively.

Thats was a nice watch, and I specially love that you made a Megaman video with this topic, tho your descriptions of Robot Masters are kinda wrong Robot masters are surerly way smarter than what you implied, specially that there is one example of Robot Master questioning his work and wanting to change jobs, Tundra Man from MM11, unsatisfied with his job, he asked to be changed into a Ice Skater performer, this plus the ending of MM7 (no matter if its the USA or JP version) where Rock plans on killing Wily despite the Law of Robotics supposedly being a main part of his progamming makes it clear to me that they can want to do things outside their progamming due to their personalities rather than their jobs, is just that they arent capable of doing this on their own will if said thing they want get in the way of the progamming despite they wanting it, if Cutman want to start a hobby of playing golf, he will do it as long as that dont get in the way of the work, if he wants to make golf player be his job and doesnt like his lumberjack job anymore, he must ask to be reprogammed that way, like a child having to ask their parents if they can do something This plus the fact that I dont think the classic series had much plan of exploring this topics and rather be a more cartoon-ish series, the fact that Wily survives his mechas exploding with him on it plus surviving an entire block of concrete bigger than him, Rock surviving what its implied to be a ALIEN SUPERNATURAL energy while most reploids fall victim to an earthly virus (sure, Rock had that gotten out of him with help of Duo with his energy, but still a feat from Rock that he handle that long due to HIS HEROIC SENSE OF JUSTICE AND MEMORIES), and the fact that Bass, a robot meant to defeat Megaman, be the strongest, and made by Wily, and says that he destroy the other bosses from them being in his way, has JUSTICE ENERGY on him, even tho he denies it, this just implies that the main robots are generating this super natural energy due to who they are as a person, despite being artificially made, they surely arent built with this on them, if im being honest this just makes me think that if Megaman were to face a reploid, he would win if he was smart about it and due to the cartoony nature of his series, i dont really think they are much stronger than all that Rock faced, like, an old tank will still cause damage to newer ones, is just less convinient to have them (unless the reploid is X or Zero, then yeah, he is in trouble), and also, a little thing in his series is that he always take on beings that are way above his weight, two notable examples being A SUPER ALIEN COMPUTER ABLE TO MAKE MAGNETIC FIELDS THAT DAMAGES THE EARTH AND IS ALSO ABLE TO TURN HUMANS EVIL LIKE SIGMA, and also took on AN ALIEN ROBOT CALLED THE DOOMSDAY WEAPON, WHO'S EXPLOSION WAS A TREATH TO THE STATION THEY WERE So yeah, not really realistic nor really match other series

@paxhumana2015Ай бұрын
@KeyleeTamirian, et al, how about the third option, which is to not only serve, but to also obey, follow, and accept, the precepts of the God that is called YAHWEH EL ELOHIM that is found within the Christian and Jewish holy writ? I remember once that a person that had visited a church had a very interesting concept about Him, namely, that said person view the word God as an acronym, which was short for Grand Originating Designer. Yes, one could easily make parallels to Dr. Light/Right and Dr. Wily being like YAHWEH EL ELOHIM and Lucifer/Satan, respectively, but that theory falls apart once you see that, as in our world, there were actually MANY robotic inventors, whereas humans only have One Being that made everything, and that is YAHWEH EL ELOHIM, and, at best, Lucifer can only make inferior imitations of what YAHWEH EL ELOHIM made perfectly, and, even then, the power that Lucifer has is like trying to compare Deep Blue to UNIVAC. Yes, UNIVAC was larger, but even a 1970s calculator could be smart with its programming than UNIVAC. I believe that I would rather choose to follow YAHWEH EL ELOHIM and be wary of AI, and computers, and not become equal to a computer, nor use it to make myself try to become as Lucifer did, and as Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. This does not mean that I will not befriend, and/or misuse, AI, and/or robots, but, rather, I would not try to become one of those evildoers that wants a s e x robot because I cannot get l a i d in real life.

I think so! Megaman 5 takes place a few months after Megaman 4 and that takes place a year after Megaman 3. So the math checks out

Robot masters would be a cool type of AI to have but a bit too optimistic for the tech. They seem sentient without actually desiring rights or humanity’s destruction, showing emotion, compassion, and even morals, without the threat of them getting too smart or too stupid. I will say though that this is most likely because humans in the mega man universe aren’t as scummy and more open to have them in their lives, with a relationship like that there’s no reason to rebel or question their status as servants, because they’re treated almost like heroes judging from their “Man” style of naming. It’s only when Dr Wily starts screwing things up because “little man want big power”, that things start to go downhill, until years later it would result in a war between human and machine. I mean, fuse man has a goddamn pet rabbit ffs.

As much as I love Megaman, it's too goofy to compare the technology in it to the real world. The series just doesn't have enough logic or internal consistency.

Sorry But your cutman bit was wrong It's been said and shown in manga Comics thwt robot masters have very human like mind The only limitations are the laws of robotics

Manga is non-canon. Even Sera waaaay far into the future (around 5000 AD/several thousand years after ZXA in Legends 2) complained that she cannot think nor act further than the boundaries set by the Master (last human on Elysium). Robot Masters while aren't soulless beings, they are bound by the laws of robotics and the design they were given by their creators (they can still find loopholes around it or break free through reprogramming). X is unique because he can do whatever he wants and he has free will, then after that the reploids were mass-produced and X was used as a sample. So basically between the X and ZX series the reploids were almost the same as humans (they could later interbreed, see Carbons in Legends). Whether Zero had free will before Sigma caught the Maverick Virus from him is debatable, because he was highly uncontrollable and unstable. After that encounter, Zero was similar to X in terms of cognitive functions. The following things are canon: Mainline games (incl. official guidebooks/guides), statements made by Capcom/Inafune (back then), Mega Man Zero Audio Drama. Timeline works like this if you are interested: Classic - X (x6 ending is supposed to be the latest event in the X series, it happened after x8) - Zero 1-4 - ZX - ZXA - Legends 1-2 BN and SF are on an entirely different timeline. There were certain events that are important to know, like the Maverick Wars ended / Elf Wars began before Zero 1. The alleged world reset (what Master Albert and Master Thomas were talking about) most likely happened after ZXA although Legends is the far future so anything could've happened.

@@anon3631 , and anyone that agrees with you, DID I F U C K I N G STUTTER, YOU S T U P I D B A S I C B I T C H E S ? Whether the manga is considered canon or not, or even if the Archie, or other, comic book/Western manga, are all seen as canonical or not is irrelevant, as the general rules are that a. if it does not contradict the source material, then it should be considered as true, b. if real life renders the alleged "non-canonical" material inert, and incorrect, then we refer to real life, and c. even the video games themselves changed their stories, thus they have also, by themselves, proven to be inconsistent, as well as a part of a malleable universe, and that also takes into consideration real life things that render the video game story lines inert and incorrect, thus, once again, we refer to the real life system of information, and events, in regards to such matters in the end.
