I knew Tori was great, but given the complexity of these songs, how he matches to harmonize is incredible. She is NOT singing a predictable meter. Either they have practiced a lot or he has incredible talent (or both).

I was and I WILL TELL YOU BOTH DO A GREAT JOB ON A REAL TEST FLIGHT MEDLEY .... and her ease of tonal accuracy and natural vibrato is so clean and strong ..... we are in for a treat going forward. Big Fan. As a note = Tori has the low power and pitch perfect skill and range THAT EVEN KAREN did not have in this degree ! Anyone that refuses Tori's same sound as Karen is purely a refusal to allow anyone could be that good ..... simply is the case. GBjj

Bob, thank you for getting this done and I'm glad you enjoyed it and appreciated it. Tori certainly is one of the generational talents. I was going to provide more information but I see that Joe down below filled you in on everything you need to know for now. There are a couple of original songs and there was some recent covers that were not Carpenter songs. Those would make great reactions. There are only two things in the "cover band" music world that have freaked me over the last years. 1. Leonid and friends, which ironically, their last posting was a carpenters song, and 2. Tori et. al. How could this be!!

Hi Bob, I’m Ron’s friend Joe. I wrote before on the triple play. But I haven’t yet commented on QUAKE! My hero. Now on to Tori and Jim. Tori made her Medley in October of last year. Jim was introduced to Tori by KZbin last February. He felt this song needed more “Richard.” So he did what you saw and added that. He showed it to Tori. She loved it, he released it. He asked her to help him complete his WOJB project which was stalled because his lead singer had suddenly passed away. 💔 She did and that’s what you saw earlier. BTW if you listen carefully in Walk On By, while looking right at the camera, she does Richard/harmony/Karen (repeat). She also did Richard in the harmonies also, the deeper voice. Jim just did his magic and added a DEEPER voice. Perfecting the result. Oh, the tempo was created by Richard, the insert that Tori added was from The Ed Sullivan Show in Nov. 1970. The first performance of The Medley and it was live to tape w/Karen on drums! Yes she has TWO original songs out. Both offered to her after the writers saw her videos. Last year Christmas Again (audio) was released in the holidays. This year the day after WOJB released she dropped Something To Believe In, (audio and video). Both are on her channel. Now she recently collaborated with Dan Wesley on two songs. Dan had made two mini-docs on Tori. He wondered after seeing a Perry Como TV Special w/Carpenters where Karen sang one verse of It’s Impossible, what she would have sounded like singing the entire song. So he asked Tori. She said it’s one of her favorite songs but couldn’t find music in her key. Tori's voice just glistens. Like Karen's, its so clean and resonant. And I totally agree with the distinctions you make about their comparisons. No one will ever replace Karen, but Tori has no problem whatsoever standing on her own.

Surprising when you learn that Tori hasn't been singing for long. I think she only performed in public for the first time about a year ago. She is a rare 'natural', with not only depth and resonance so missing from a lot of female vocals, but a weightless agility that allows her to decorate the song with ease and accuracy. She has emerged a fully-formed artist who could (and may well) stroll into a career as a session/backing vocalist par excellence.

Hi, it’s even less further back. Her live appearances were in April 2024. On the 12th at Crooners in Minneapolis and the 25th at The Carpenters 55th in Downey. I was at the 55th. Can you say goosebumps?

LOVE the Midnight Special shirt...It is remakable how close this i,s to the original, which is also spectacular, but as you heard with the intro this is not a Carpenter's medly, but a Bacharach/David medley, made more poignant by Burt's passing last year. Next, I recommend Something to Believe in -- a Carpertersesque song written for and interpreted by Tori, again channeling her inner Karen

Bob, I agree, Tori sounds a lot like Karen. True test, just listen to the audio without watching the video and it's uncanny. The people who said she sounds nothing like Karen, are either tone deaf or manic Karen Carpenter fans who find it inconceivable that someone has a voice like Tori's that is arguably as good as Karen's.

Just heard the full version of "Suddenly" she can do no wrong to my ears! I've been following Tori since I found a reactor react to We've Only.... about a month ago and I've been sold on Tori's voice/sound. I check every day for new reactions to Tori; I am dismayed that she hasn't caught fire or gone viral.

Anyone that listens to Tori's cover of "We've Only Just Begun" and thinks she doesn't sound like Karen Carpenter just has a bias that clouds their judgement. Not only does she sound almost exactly like Karen to me, I watched another video of someone who did a pitch analysis comparing the two of them and it was eerily similar with some minor differences in vibrato and the natural voice breaks from Karen that Tori did not replicate, which I did not even pick up on.

Tori is the closest to Karen's voice that I have ever heard and I am a self professed 70's junkie. Those that say otherwise truly have no clue about what they are saying!
