For normal humans you should know that many Korean food will set you on fire and can give an entire new meaning to the phrase "shit fire." That being said many people love it.

Hi Dwight👋. Yes, Korean food can be very spicy for some. In general, Korean food’s spiciness is pretty mellow compared to other cuisines, like Thai and Mexican food spiciness. I LUV Mexican spicy foods, even if my face starts to melt. Thai food, I luv, too, but I can’t eat their ‘normal’ spicy foods. I always have to ask for less spicy.

Can I recommend a recipe...Chinese style 🐔 Lemon 🍋 pepper chicken like they serve on the buffets.. It looks battered, thin slided chicken, chopped onions ,lemon pepper, carrots 🥕 and peas...It's my favorite. So delicious 😋!!

I've been trying to learn to make great fried rice for a while now. Most of the instructional material I've seen is about Chinese style fried rice where they heavily emphasize using day old/completely cooled, non-short grain rice. Is there a specific reason Korean fried rice (which I'm pretty sure uses short grain rice?) is able to use freshly cooked rice? Either way, delicious looking dish!

Hi👋 Chinese cuisine is completely different from Korean, as much there are similarities (like rice being a staple in both cultures). Korean rice is medium-grain and we have over 200+ varieties of rice grains (not just white grains). As for Korean fried rice, we make it a bit less "fried" and use less "oil." We make our fried rice more steamed and sauteed. As for using day old rice, cold rice from the fridge, or warm rice, they all work for Korean fried rice. I'm not an expert on Chinese fried rice, but it is made using extremely hot pan and flash fried with oil. So day old rice (usually cold and rubbery sitting in the fridge) will "fry" well in that hot wok with sizzling rice vs using warm fluffy rice. Hope this helps. I also have other Korean fried rice recipes, as noted on the video. Kimchi Fried Rice kzbin.info/www/bejne/sITGqZWelt6cl5o. 👎 No offense love your channel but some of us aren’t afraid of “too spicy” many Mexican establishments are too afraid to insult their patrons because there stuff is “too hot” what we have no is watered down spices me salsas.. overly salty food etc.. when I order spicy I want it to hit! Wish everyone wasn’t so afraid of Chile..

Hi @rietzhu 👋 As I always say, ‘make it the way u like it’ when it comes to seasoning. And the same applies for spicy level. Everyone has their own unique palette and preferences (i.e. salty vs less salty, flavorful vs mild flavors, spicy vs not spicy…etc). My preferred spicy taste might be too spicy for some. And for some of my friends, my spicy preference isn’t spicy enough cuz they prefer it super spicy. I never put down anyone who prefers spicy foods or downplay spicy food lovers. I luv Mexican food. We eat it once a week at least. I prefer the spicy condiments and pickled jalapeños, but my husband prefers it mild. So everyone is allowed to enjoy their foods, the way they like it. For Korean cuisine, southern regions make their foods more flavorful and spicy compared to northern regions. And yes, many restaurants, including Korean restaurants, make modifications for their ‘foreign’ clients. I’m totally disappointed that some Korean restaurants make their dishes extra sweet to ‘accommodate’ non-Korean clients. So I completely understand ur disappointment with Mexican restaurants, perhaps, watering down the spiciness for non-Mexican clients.
