The fact is of the top 10 trade partners, India has a trade surplus only with the US. India has the maximum trade deficit with China. Russia is not a significant trade partner except for arms. The trade in arms will reduce as a fraction of defense trade. I hope this settles the issue of strategic autonomy. It's the economy.
