Truth be told, I really just want to see how a modified EN measures up in his performance car rankings. I think a lot of reviewers have a strong anti-kdm bias off the rip. Especially because so much about cars are subjective. I bet your car would blow his mind though.

I started working at a Honda dealer recently and got to drive an FK8. My buddy has a Veloster N that I've driven multiple times but man the extra bit of pull from the engine in this and the steering is excellent. I'm really impressed and glad we don't have any FL5s to tempt me out of my NC Club Miata haha.

Honda really did a great job with the OEM forged option. I went 255/35 on my stock wheels as well for cooler & winter weather. I drive a 22 Elantra N DCT on stock 19’s your review on the Falken fk460 AS made me purchase them once my michellin ps4s wore out and I am super pleased with the switch! Plenty of grip to zip around town, and extremely quiet. The only notable differences from ps4s are that the Falken’s aren’t as sticky and maybe due to the increased weight in tire bumps are bit more noticeable but not more unpleasant! I don’t track my car but once I start I’ll get a dedicated set for that.

Great ride, man. I am squarely in the "more tire sidewall" > "low profile tires" crowd. I recently purchased a Q5 and swapped out the 20's for the base 18's. Way more comfortable and I feel more confident driving on rougher roads. I know with a car like this you'll lose some performance on the track. I give you credit for daily driving on those tires!

@mappyfrappy5 ай бұрын
You certainly sell it well with your nicely done videos. Makes me want to go do some needless driving in mine just because it's so fun to do. And I do exactly that all the time. Funny that the rear MM made such a difference. Never even considered it until I saw this. I did all three MMs on my new MS3 way back in 2007. That thing wrote a new chapter on wheel hop and torque steer. People would still buy that car new today if they sold them for 25k like then. Sure, it destroyed tires like nobody's business, but super bang for the buck and zero flash since no one could tell it from a basement Mazda 3. I have fond memories. But the FL5 really is about the best do-it-all reliable car for enthusiasts. I say that because the Golf R is good all-around now that they fixed the touch controls thing, but you still have the VW hit or miss reliability thing to deal with. I've seen enough VW-owning friends pay that piper. No thanks. Same reason not to get a used RS3. Can't get 8 foot boards in a RS3 either. And you can in a FL5 and still close the hatch. Good luck shifting though. And I don't think you personally had one, but the FL5 is much nicer to drive than the FK8 in nearly every way. Fit, finish, driving experience. Better stability at speed too. I was on the fence after seeing the speed comparison videos, but I'm glad traded the 2021 FK8 for the 2024 FL5. The rev hang is slightly annoying though. That's about the only gripe I have besides that it feels like a significantly bigger car which I'm used to now. It fits in the same garage though...less than an inch in every direction vs the FK8. And my FK8 18" Titan 7 all-season-coated wheels fit it since having to get new tires on a new car is an unpleasant hit if you live in the north. I agree for the most part that you don't need a tune, but I'm considering the two-step performance Hondata tune with a new ECU so I can keep the stock ECU stock for warranty purposes...and it gets rid of the rev hang, so they say. And for anyone that says you can't use extra power around town, sure, that's true, you'll just spin, but on the highway or track, oh yeah. And lastly, the only reason anyone buys an Elantra N instead is because it's close enough for a lot less money. And it is, but rationalizing it for any other reason than price is a load of manure because you'd rather have a FL5. I get it. I wouldn't be watching this if I could afford a new 911 Turbo S. But I'm grateful that I can at least drive this beauty. It's fun every time you get in it.

Topher man, id highly recommend a winter beater. Coming from someone who grew up and just recently moved out of south eastern Michigan, this car will sadly be a rust bucket in under 5 winters tops. The salt brine they've been putting down the roads lately have destroyed just about every car that touches it. Destroys rotors, suspension parts, all of the drivetrain and will eventually eat the body panels away once water and salt finds their way into the cracks and crevices over time. Definitely might be time to make this your second car if you wanna save it.
