One our team's Aeternus units had a super wobbly pod, a jammed IPD screw adjustment and the battery housing fell out and it was only because of our local dealer that we got it swapped for a new housing lol. When he reached out to LLI initially about it, they said the wobble is normal and to just superglue the battery housing back in lol.

This is audiophile market all over again. What happens is that unsavory elements (Sleazium and Larcenium) flood the market with incompetently designed goods at premium prices, particularly parts like housings that don't require any real knowledge or entry cost. Customers have no technical knowledge and no expectation of what these parts actually cost. That's how most bino housings end up costing about 4x what they cost to make. Eventually someone in China takes the market with a good part at a more reasonable price, and only the Made In America fanatics keep shilling for their preferred mediocre products.

PATIENTLY (but not really) waiting on my new MH1 build to arrive in the mail. After emailing Claude for a while I was mind blown by the engineering in this device. Can’t wait to begin the long term review series. I can see the monopod being the ultimate starting unit that allows a 0 compromise to eventually upgrade later if needed. While conversely if NVG is t your thing someone would in theory constantly be searching for a second tube to bridge theirs. Thus revolutionizing the second hand market if this housing gains traction (like I predict it will). The upcoming projects they have for this device in addition to the user serviceability make this housing at-least on paper the best housing ever made. I CANT WAIT

I've been waiting on your panning system to come out slightly disappointed that it doesn't pan to 70. Idk if it's too late but 40 55 and 70 I have found to be extremely beneficial especially since the standard human fov in focus is about 70. But still looking forward to it. Thanks for talking about it.

Please release the ball detent mount assembly the MH-1. I don’t even care if flipping it down turns the MH-1 on or off, I just badly need a set of NVG’s that interface with an aviation helmet but that aren’t crappy ANVIS-9’s. I’ve seen so many people wanting this. It would be *huge* for those of us who work in aviation that aren’t bound to only using ANVIS-9’s, such as aeromedical crews, search and rescue teams and auxiliary police units. While pilots are bound to only using ANVIS goggles, the rest of the crew isn’t since they’re technically considered “passengers” per DOI/FAA standards. While you can cobble together a Wilcox G24 to a Wilcox DPAM to HGU-56/P helmet adapter - it’s so clunky and heavy. I would trade my RPNVG housing in a heartbeat for an MH-1 with a ball detent mount. It would save my neck while flying while also providing me with sturdy goggles for running around in the woods while working or while out predator calling/hog hunting at home.

would you guys ever cover the argus pvs31a? like comparing its lenses to noctis lenses, im considering getting the argus 31s for the coolness factor, but there's basically zero reviews on it

Poorly made housing from the couple of examples we got. Both pods leak at the eyepiece which isn't something you can service, even at the dealer/assembler level, so it was poorly assembled and QC'd. Collimation and diopter system is also difficult to work with and imprecise compared to the normal way collimation is adjusted for PVS-14-based systems.

It looks to me like the monocular conversion, involves detaching the arm from the tube housing, rather than detaching the arm for the bridge... ? Is that how it works... And if yes... Does that mean the interior of the housing is exposed and it needs to be purged again... ?
@7499415 күн бұрын
No… Cold harbor has a 5 min video ab it from January of this year explaining it it connects to the bridge or monocular adapter via a screw and it doesnt expose the internals when you switch between bridge/mono I’m assuming the panoramic upgrade will require that and be more of a permanent conversion
@JL_Fi15 күн бұрын
@@74994 I was already in contact with LLI about this, and according to them, the monocular conversion involves detaching the arm from the tube housing, and the housing interior is indeed exposed and purge lost, but in their opinion, the purge is not that important, unless you live in very humid environment...

1:45 so are you saying you can switch from manual gain to auto gain? I was watching a different interview, from HRT Tactical, with a different gentleman from LLI and he was saying, if I understood correctly, that you could remove the manual gain feature if desired… just curious how that’d work? And if you can even switch between manual gain and auto gain I don’t think I’ve heard that feature before… or is there something I’m missing here?
@coldharboursupply17 күн бұрын
That's something done at the builder/assembler level when your dealer is putting your device together. Simply put - if you have a manual gain intensifier tube that has a gain pigtail (MX-11769 format), then that can plug directly into the MH-1 without modification so you have manual gain. But the builder can also remove the gain pigtail and then install it, and you would have a system that is auto-gain. As a user, you cannot switch between manual gain and auto-gain.

this is dumb. don't scale up by buying parts, nerds-- your unit holds its value fine. you can resell a gen 3 pvs 14 for more than it probably cost you back at time of purchase, and roll those funds into your next unit.
@LarpingSupply27 күн бұрын
I disagree. Their single tube has a better illuminator, is lighter and is easily user serviceable. While also being very compatible in price. Then you just buy a bridge and another tube with similar specs later so you retain %100 of your initial investment, while having the ability with one screw to split into two units for a spouse or perhaps to bridge thermals. Modularity, user serviceability, weight and cost are all key points this housing is dominating the market on.
@madeleineollerton599327 күн бұрын
@@LarpingSupply any pvs14 based modern system is user serviceable, and if you're basing your buy decision for a monocular on the strength of its' built-in illuminator, you've exposed yourself as a total boob.
