It was good untill there was i feel a major plot hole near the end where the fathers only real motive for killing the rich guy was that he didnt like the smell of poor people, they even said the rich family was nice as a whole and so his son wanted to marry the rich guys daughter. i dont see how this guy would murder him in front of many witnessess just because of jealousy and that he said PRIVATELY his scent wasnt appealing. Did i miss something?
@RDZX10895 жыл бұрын
@@TimWolf42 To be honest I got confused at first too on why he killed him, but then I thought about it more and to me I feel like he killed the rich father out of anger because the rich father didn't even insist or think about helping the poor father's daughter ( the other worker from the rich father's point of view) who got stabbed, and that he only cared about saving his own son at that moment, and more so was leaving all of them behind selfishly. Even though you can understand why the Rich father was panicking for his son and only thought about him at the time, I guess in the end it was just a bad situation for everyone at that point. Not trying to overanalyze but that's how I got it. Hope it didn't sound too complicated. Not a perfect movie but I loved it personally.
@CaatsGoMoooo5 жыл бұрын
@@TimWolf42 It for sure isn't the only motive. The breaking point yes, but I mean Christ, this is a father whose entire house just flooded the night before, and whose daughter has just been fatally stabbed in front of him. Meanwhile Mr.Park screams at him to drive his son to the hospital just for fainting. Then finally, seeing Mr.Park not give two shits about his daughter or the man who's just been impaled to death, instead covering his nose as he reaches for the keys, it reinforces to the father every view that Mr.Park has about 'people like him'. You can physically see his face fall as he remembers exactly how pathetically low he is on the food chain. THAT'S why he kills Mr.Park.

I like how the rich family in this movie is often portrayed as inept, gullible, ignorant or downright helpless. In contrast to the virtuous "American dream" succes stories we often see in the west. The mom and dad can't even maintain their own household without help, the daughter struggles with (edit: not math but) English, and the little kid is a downright hyperactive mess. They also have a terrible awareness. Not just of their direct surroundings but also of society around them. They literally cannot survive without the low paid labour provided to them by the poor. It's an interesting way to ask about who's really the parasite

In reality it may not be this way, but the director make use of tactics to show symbolism, such as the rich never look down because they feel they are the upper class, so the rich couple didnt notice the poor father and kids at the bottom of their sofa, they never once check below despite the "smell" , the rich daughter never check below the bed despite her dog was checking it out, the young boy never noticed the poor family hiding below while he was playing in his tent.

Brilliant movie so glad I saw some random tweet on my timeline about it. The trailer was also Incredible showing enough but not ruining it. Just a beautiful job on showing how classism is a wall and to get over it you must fit in (lie/know someone high class). But when they get over the wall they actually all did very well at their jobs! Also I viewed the rock his friend gave him as that wall and when he gave it to him along with the job offer it was his chance to climb over the wall.

I literally just finished watching it like 2 minutes ago on Amazon and this movie kept me captivated the entire time. It was so intense at some points, and yet so lax at others. I was pretty surprised by the ending, and they do a great job of making you root for both families and overall loved this movie. I give it 9 Heath Heads out of 10

I'm very stupid at understanding movies but even then, I understood that parasite is different, a realm above the last movies I've watched of which made me feel like not watching any upcoming ones anymore. Moist meter really feeds the details like a mother to her toothless baby, very careful, with great attention and easy to digest, that I understood the points and feelings I had from Parasite that I've watched years ago. Charlie's breakdown of its points made a replay of the movie in my mind so clearly, I unironically marvel at the power of his words and eloquence

The thing people are not taking about the movie is its title "Parasite". This is an excellent title for this film. I really think i would have not liked the movie as much if the title for the movie was different. It gave a great depth to the movie and i loved it. Easily one of the best movie of 2019.. P.S. I've now watched 2 Korean movie (Oldboy and Parasite) and i loved both of them..

Charlie says it's amazing, I'm gonna watch it. And, oh boy, it's *NICE* . There was only one scene in this whole movie that I had a problem with (noise of the body dragging on the floor 2 meters away not being heard). The movie did a fantastic job in the immersion department, making you clench your butt cheeks with all your might during some scenes, and delivering a surreal feel to a totally real story. Crazy good.

@Dowhat Iwant wow I've never seen such an awful opinion
@clanofclams27205 жыл бұрын
@Dowhat Iwant I mean... You're just confirming how awful your taste is. The film is a masterpiece, and probably the best one of the year, and just because you hang out with a bunch of cinematically illiterate furfags doesn't mean that the movie is a failure, especially considering it tripled it's budget.
@clanofclams27205 жыл бұрын
Dowhat Iwant "some of us where raised by men" clearly not all of us, considering real men ensure their sons have a thorough and complete understanding and appreciation of what makes film as an art form so special, setting apart brilliant works of art like the lighthouse away from your favourite transformers movies. Do you get all your info from Wikipedia? As if I needed any more confirmation on your severely deficient mental state, you spam emojis like a 12 year old girl would. You were right. Some of us were raised by men... I guess daddy left pretty early on, then. "lolololol"
@thanusthepurplethiccman37795 жыл бұрын
Dowhat Iwant Wow, I just wanted to recommend Charlie a movie, and within an hour it spiraled out into a huge argument, with you sounding like a fucking copypasta half the time. Money doesn’t mean everything. The Transformers movies made billions of dollars, are they some how more “legitimate” than a masterpiece like The Lighthouse? Also, the box office likely has more to do with a much smaller distribution, while other shit like Gemini Man and Jexi were plastered throughout the country with a wide release.
@thanusthepurplethiccman37795 жыл бұрын
Dowhat Iwant I would like to invite you to a debate over this film. Hopefully you’re enough of a “man” to actually acknowledge this.
