I took my little sister to an all ages drag brunch a few years ago. It was definitely targeted for families to bring their kids, and all the performances centered around loving yourself and being true to yourself. All great messages for children, wrapped up in drag performers in colorful, fun outfits and costumes. My sister is now 16, and it is definitely a favorite memory of ours. Obviously, not all “all ages” shows are family centered, but it’s so outlandish to equate a drag brunch with grooming children. It’s so sickening and heartbreaking that there are such extremely sick people out there that want to harm the community. Especially based off of insanely incorrect and icky assumptions.

agreed and it really bums me out because at the end of the day i love ethan, but i’m beyond over his bullshit. he’s been over this so many times, he knows better. he started the episode talking about how grateful he is for the work they’ve done as a team to build up the podcast and how he doesn’t hate going to work, and then just threw a gigantic nuke on it. why doesn’t he respect his own crew enough to stop? there are so many jokes that exist in the world why tf does it always have to be bomb threats and wishing death on people. if it wasn’t for literally everyone else on the show except him i’d be taking a hiatus because it’s just disrespectful at this point.
@Abitflippant2 жыл бұрын
@@sweetest-of-memes I've written four drafts of a reply to your post and everytime I review it I realize my rebuttal to your post is ...bad. I sympathize with Ethan because I envy his freedom to say what he does because of how much disdain I have for the conservative right. He expressed out loud many of the feelings I have. I don't see what he says as bullshit, I see him being honest about how he feels and sharing it with us. Hopefully Hasan can help him express these feelings like he does and only gets banned for dumb shit like saying cracker. But you're right
@sweetest-of-memes2 жыл бұрын
@@Abitflippant yeah i think this is a situation where we’re both on the same side but just view it slightly differently. i totally agree with everything you said too. i do love that part of him that just says fuck it, i’m not playing games, this is how i feel. and my real feeling on it (that i didn’t actually say in my comment) is that you can say almost anything if you approach it the right way. if he framed things the way hasan does where it’s clear what the joke is and what the context really is, i would have zero issues. my biggest grievance is that he already knows all of this because it’s been explained to him many times and he even promised us he’d do better. that’s really where i get kinda pissy about it because at this point, dude what gives just try a different approach. so no worries at all, i’m glad you see where i’m coming from even if at first you weren’t on board. peace and love fellow foopa troopa!
