Yes the 83 live is the best version of this song. It will give you a taste of their energy and what it was like to be at one of their concerts. JP has always been my favorite band and this is my favorite song by them.

@@tracierathbun7686 True, the '83 version is the best. BUT to say Rob was in his prime in '83 is wrong. The dude is over 70 years old and is STILL killin' it!!

@@DomeShotyour reply should have been to Skinner 2469, not me, as I am not the one who said JP was in their prime in 83. I agreed the '83 version of this song was the best one because it gave people a taste of what it was like to see their energy in live performances. I do not disagree with you on the everlasting greatness of Metal God Rob Halford. I saw them live in 85 and again in Nov. 2022. I have to say the '85 show WAS best tho, only becuz Glen and KK were there, but neither were in 2022 AND they didn't play Victim of Changes this last time either. Also, '85 was outdoors, not in, AND I was YOUNG! Halford remains, as always, F---ing Amazing! this last time.

The live version of this Song is wayyyy better!! Unleashed in the East! Please do Exciter, or The Green Manileshi live from this album! This was my favorite band in 9th grade 1980! I've seen them several times and they kill it live!! If y'all can take a listen to it, Unleashed in the East . JP is amazing metal!! ❤️‍🔥🤘🤘🎸😁

It is great, but for a first time listen it's better to go with the studio version. That's the most perfect one and exactly how the band wants it to sound.

That transition from the mellow to the heavier and the way Rob Halford screams that line gets me every time too! You FEEL that shit! Another good one from this album is actually 2 songs: Dreamer Deceiver/ Deceiver. You HAVE to do those together. Hell, this whole album is a masterpiece. But the song you just did and the ones I listed are the definite high points.

Firstly, respect for actually listening to your subscribers (it was me who suggested you put a warning about scammers at the start of your videos). As for the reaction, I completely agree with everything you said. I've been a metalhead for around 35 years and yet I've never really bothered listening to Judas Priest, so I'm discovering their music alongside you. I mean, I've heard bits and pieces over the years so I've always known how impressive Rob Halford's vocals are, but I've never really took the time to listen to their songs. I heard bits of Metallica, bits of Sabbath and bits of Led Zepplin in this song, and it's f*****g great!

HUGE kudos to you for doing the studio version first instead of a live performance, like most people seem to request. In my opinion it's almost always best to do studio versions first. That's the one that the band painstakingly produced to sound exactly the way they want it to. In the case of this amazing song (my absolute favorite of theirs) you get the guitars bouncing back and forth in your headphones and the almost psychedelic breakdown part is crystal clear. You don't usually get the perfect version with a live performance. Loving your channel dude, keep it up!!!

1975 Live video of Dreamer Deceiver on BBC is the most incredible song performance live that I've ever seen. It was before their success and they looked exactly how they did during this album. I hope you just watch it asap. Not requesting a reaction video I just think it will move you more than any other Judas Priest live performance. They've always been the best and that BBC performance of Dreamer Deceiver in 1975 is still hard to believe actually happened as perfect as it did with sound quality and visual performance. Great reaction videos. Thank you!

Hi I am a brand new subscriber (58 yr. old female). I am so pleased you chose Judas Priest to react to. They are my favorite band and yes, they are metal gods! I urge you to delve into more metal. Pantera's Cemetary Gates is incredible. Iron Maiden is another band to explore if u haven't already. I've been to over 100 concerts and I saw Iron Maiden live for the first time in 2016 and it was stellar! It ranks in my top 5 favorite concerts. Their energy is unbelievable and Bruce Dickinson's voice is still superb. I feel it is the responsibility of the older generation to share the music of our time with the young so they can know what great music was. Im an old metal head/classic rock kinda chick but I also love the early 70's Motown R&B (slow jams), the 80's hair bands and I LOVE Barbra Streisand. I listen to a little country and a little rap as well. I think variety makes a person more well rounded and worldly. Enjoy your new musical experiences. 😊

The thing is, when you listen to 70s Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, you have to remember the state of music at that time. This was the beginning of heavy metal. They were the first. Priest was the soundtrack of my teenage years. Saw them several times in concert and the boys never failed to impress. Of all their tunes, this is THE one. The incredible duo guitars of KK and Downing were a sight to behold. To see them live....never equaled. And then there is Rob...what can you possibly say? The clarity and tone of his voice is pure magic. I was chuckling through the video and thought..."just wait boyo, you have NO idea what is about to punch you right in the face"!! I'm sure somebody else has already explained it, but Rob Halford is a classically trained opera singer and is considered by many to be the best metal vocalist ever. This is always been my favorite Priest song and one of my favorite songs overall. One of the highlights of my life and quite possibly my pinnacle concert moment was hearing this song done live when these guys Headlined for Hatebreed and Slayer. Absolutely amazing experience.

Uh, Rob was never formally trrained as a singer in any form. Never, in the dozen books I have on Priest, and his own biographies, has there been a mention of training.

Judas Priest is one of my all time favorite bands as they're not afraid to evolve their sound and style.

I agree, this era of music does have real soul. That guitar solo was awesome, and it turned super groovy…beautiful! The only Rock singer I know of today that can sing way up high is Justin Hawkins from The Darkness. He’s in his late 40’s and still sounds phenomenal. Edit: You’re almost to 15K!

Rob Halford stepped in as a vocalist with Sabbath on a few occasions. In the 70s we didn't have the amount of bands that there are now but they were all top quality😊

Yes sir, please do. You will love the live version even better because the tempo of the entire song is faster, AND, Rob Halford was equally magnificent live back in the day. Nobody can continue to sound like that for 40+ years. You will love early Priest once you get your toes wet. Fav album is Screaming For Vengeance. Title track is amazing. The Hellion/Electric Eye. Incredible. Of course, the studio album versions are better for me than any live video I've seen. I'm sure others will disagree.

I don't disagree. Studio versions are definitely the way to go. Those are the versions that the band worked very hard on (heehee😅) to sound exactly the way they want it to. After you get to know a song, then hearing different live variations can be cool. And obviously BEING there live is a whole other thing!

My favourite 'Priest album by far.....they came from the same place as Sabbath,so its likely they rubbed off on each other, also they started out at around the same time,so they are contempories

If you find this soulful check out Run of the Mill! Thanks for the video; I love seeing younger folks find this early Priest which, IMO is the best of the lot.
