I know families who have this run in their family and it can be due to physical health, genetics, psychological illness or due to the environment. I am a Dr. Pharmacist. In most cases I’ve seen patients get triggered by stressful or emotional events in their life. Dopamine is plays a role in the way of leading to schizophrenia and what it does is causes overstimulation in the brain.

To be honest, his whole profile could be mostly true. I knew an extremely handsome man, IB hs grad, went to UF for engineering, both parents were dentists. On his last year of engineering school, he had his first schizophrenic break and was hospitalized. His profile a year before that, at age 22 would have looked really good. Like she said...it was a long road. I garentee you that she blamed him for acting out like any parent would do with an unruly child. Probably brought the child to tons of doctors trying to get answers and when they asked about family history she likely said none because that's what was on the paperwork. If she knew maybe they could have handled it differently. The son wouldn't have been feeling like a failure compared to his mom and dad. As far as the son knew, his father was working on some new tech to cure illnesses while he (the son) was having a hard time. If he had known that his father dealt with similar issues, maybe that would have been comforting to him as he isn't a bad kid because he can't control his actions.
