How in all the nine hells is the OP's husband in the wrong in any conceivable way? You show up to a wedding, without an invitation, with the express intent of ruining it? What was the husband supposed to do? Ask her politely to leave? You don't capitulate to narcissists by apologizing to them for how you reacted to their bad behavior. They're not asking for an apology to mend any sort of bridge, they're doing it to feel power over you. Whoever recommended an apology in the comments should feel ashamed of themselves for their spineless advice.
@BrownLove75624 ай бұрын
I think that’s what they were expecting. For him to kindly ask her to leave. It’s bull shit. He didn’t drag her by her hair or dress, he wasn’t being aggressive, so how in tf was he wrong. From how OP was explaining the situation, no one jumped in RIGHT AWAY to escort the sister out, so he respectfully took matters into his own hands. Mom has a lot of nerve talking about loyalty when she couldn’t be loyal with OP.

Yeah this story takes a turn at the point. Husband did nothing wrong. You hear Monica's considering a lawsuit so you admit liability and apologize? Bad move. That said, I really do think OP went too far revealing the affair. She went nuclear too soon. You can hear the vitriol related to that random other girl because of some high school bullshit. Yeah her sister is entitled and in the wrong the whole time. Then at the end we see that OP wants to rub it in with Chris. Btw, I don't believe for a second they were "just friends" and the only reason he didn't attend the wedding was a stomach flu. Idt that Chris did anything wrong really. He can hold hands with whomever he wants. But I guarantee he had feelings for OP.

If the mom wants an appology, then why not do it chronologically? Sis needs to appologize for starting rumors, for being vile at school, for trying to steal OP's boyfriends, for trying to sleep with OP's fiancé, for maliciously showing up go the wedding, for trying to embarrass a bride on her wedding day, and for spreading lies. Mom needs to appologize for ignoring her golden child's bad behaviors, puting all the onus on OP, supporting Monica's attempt at stealing a married man, supporting Monica's attempt at hijacking the wedding, and calling her husband names. After all those individual and heart-felt appologies, then OP and Adam can appologize for stopping Monica's antics when her mother goaded her on.

Don’t apologize! Sometimes physical violence is all that people such as Monica understand, it’s not as if she wound up in the hospital or the morgue. The husband is only one in this story who takes action proportionate to the circumstance so naturally Reddit who pretends he's violent is bad but this revenge spiral is fine. Then she goes nuclear where at least some restraint was needed. I'm going to predict OP will cheat with Chris. OP is petty like her sister overly invested in high school crap. "I'm still friends with him--he didn't attend my wedding because stomach flu." Yeah right. She never fully progressed passed high school so she'll end right back in there.

That's because Reddit has one simple belief that they will die in order to protect. And that's man. Bad woman good. A woman could literally stab her husband and if he so much has grabbed her wrist.
