Yeah he did, but maybe the Diamond League officials will come to their senses and let Sydney run. After giving her the invite with her accepting to run the 400m and 200m then taking it away over technicalities is pretty low class and bad for business.
@PPan-r5fАй бұрын
Oooh I smell that they will let her win, for the propaganda.
@phoebusАй бұрын
@@PPan-r5f If Sydney ran in the low 48's that's still a pretty good time for a athletic man who doesn't run track as his main thing. In addition to be being a sprint the 400m is a endurance event and if you don't pace yourself properly you will die at the end adding many seconds to your time. Sydney knows how to pace herself, does Mondo? I'd like to see Mondo run a 200 meter first before placing any predictions on who might win a in 400m.
@AnneNissen-nk4mhАй бұрын
@@phoebusAs i said i have seen Mondo run 150 the time if i remember 15,58 seconds.
@phoebusАй бұрын
@@AnneNissen-nk4mh I can't find anything about Mondo running a 150m, but than google is broken and only gives the results they want you to see and usually not what you searched for. Anyway Lyles ran a 150m a little over a second faster than time you gave for Mondo, so assuming that Mondo can keep close his 150m pace and is comparable to the amount Lyles' slows down in the last 50 meters I would think that Duplantis should be able to run a 200m in about 20.70 seconds, however he did say his legs were getting heavy at 80m so maybe closer to 21 seconds. Sydney can run the 200m split time in the 400m in under 23 seconds and Mondo would have to slow his 200m time by at least a second maybe two to run a 400m making his 200m split time close to 23 seconds also, so this race if it ever does happen might be a lot closer than people think.

If he focused on 100m for 6 months, he could probably run below 10.0 but why bother being just another world class sprinter when you are beating your nearest competitor by a foot in pole vault.

nahh under 10 is a bit much to say it takes years of training to even reduce point seconds
@alpkane2007Ай бұрын
@@soundcheck6885 I don't think so, he would be an average competitor in the 100 meters, it's not that simple to reduce the time in just 6 months, even breaking 40 hundredths of a second is truly enormous. There are people who can do it after 2-3-4 years of hard specific training. Breaking the 10 second barrier would then be prohibitive even for him. Also consider that usually there is no white athlete in the final of the 100 meters at the Olympics or at the World Athletics Championships because black athletes are much faster, so if Duplantis decided to run the 100 meters he would never win anything
