Many years ago, Brian David Gilbert and Jonah Scott talked about how most of ABBA's music could be sung by Halloween villains. This year, they turned that 3 minute conversation into a full album.

I now just want to hear a straight old timey parody of Money, sung exactly like this. It sounds like a really good villain song in general when done like this. EDIT: I know EXACTLY where this cover would fit. It's the mid-90s. A new family friendly halloween movie is coming out about a child finding a living, moving, mummy and befriending it. The movie is basically hijinks involving trying to reunite the mummy with its actual sarcophagus so it can rest in peace and truly enter the afterlife, while trying to hide it as a normal human doing normal human 90s things. Cue the hilarious rollerblading montage. Enter BDG, the owner of a run-down Mystery Shack styled tourist trap. He gets a glimpse of the mummy for what it truly is during one of the "please, just PRETEND to be a modern person" moments, and realizes this living mummy is just what he needs to refresh his business and make him millions. He tries to essentially trick the Mummy into coming to his museum, with hilarious results, until the end when he succeeds in the third act twist. Then it is an epic chase to get the mummy back after finding its sarcophagus in, like, grandpa's attic (Chekov's box, anyone?). The movie ends with BDG getting his just desserts and the mummy joining its family in the afterlife. Cue the inspirational pop rock end theme. This song? This is BDG at his low point, doing some kinda karaoke night at a bar after his umpteenth attempt failed. He is obviously unhinged, and the Bartender tells him to go home for the night, and says something that triggers his plan in the third act twist.

This is quite possibly one of my favorite albums. Every song gave me overwhelming joy, and this song in particular put the brightest smile on my face.

I like how all the other AAH!BBA tracks have parts out themed around the villain… except this one The vampire/Victor have orchestral beginnings for that organ-y choir-ish feel Pirate has sea shanty cuz, well, he’s a pirate Robot’s all Synthy for the si-fi vibe But then Brian just went ‘fuck it, jazz singer mummy’ *i mean it still sounds great, but*

The film "The Mummy" is set in the early 1920s, this could be a nod to vaudeville with that in mind.

Truly this EP has got me through so many things I don’t want to do. I will be utterly unenthusiastic and then I will put on this EP and much like Victor Frankenstein’s creature I am resurrected (but not as big, sadly). Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for getting me through packing and cleaning my room in student accommodation
