If you are really planning to use either of these for self defense, you had better practice quite a bit to prevent badly injuring yourself. Too much or too little follow-through can cause it to fly back with as much or even more force. If you don't know how to stay out or the rebound arc in close quarters, you might assist your assailant.

Incorrect. The Monkey's fist was designed to be the knot on the end of something called a "heaving line" used to toss a small line to a ship to be towed or tied up. it was then secured to a much heavier, to be hauled back to the originator. It was NEVER designed to be a weapon. However effective it may be as one. You'd be better off using 2 foot long piece of rope and hitting someone with the end of it.
@dr.dylansgame55834 жыл бұрын
@@j.m.mitterando471 how would that be more effective most people state one of the most easy martial arts weapons to learn and use are nunchaku or nun-chucks and its the same concept of using a monkey fist or flail you have a handle or rope with a weighted end and using simple back forth/side to side motion or up down over the shoulder using the centripetal force plus gravity plus the weight of the end so its undeniable that it would be the most effective melee weapon style to use considering flails could crush skulls and shatter bones and hell a man escaped prison by beating up 11 guards with makeshift nunchaku out of two bedposts and a sheet i think para-cord with a steel ball at the end would hurt a hell of alot more then some bed posts flung by a flimsy prison sheet
