Great for R/C conversion!!! I think that could be used the same conversion kits for Trumpeter's Iowa for motors, shaft & props.

I was looking at your stuff at the hobby store. I am a BIG Max Verstappen fan. Might have to get me one of his cars or something. As far as the ship goes. It takes a lot of patients to do one of those, and if it floats, shoot I would put a motor in it. Thanks for the great video. We will be watching

Hi I'll be making this kit sometime this year but what I'm asking is what is the hull and deck color. I've got 4 bottles of hobby master green/gray 52 yet I see a dark gray witch one is it as the IJN says on the bottle.

how many shekel is needed to own 1, I got the 1/200 Bismarck I 7 years ago and I've just put a bit of the super structure just can't get the time to work on it, I was thinking of getting the 1/200 Titanic or the huge wood Titanic by billings boat, wouldn't take to much arm twisting to buy a 1/200 Yamato

To be honest, you need the skill to wire this with lights, and motor to get the best from this super kit

Hmm, Trumpeter packaging, Trumpeter instructions, Trumpeter injection, Trumpeter looking PE but double the typical Trumpeter price. Curious the level of detail on the parts. Is it on the soft side like Trumpeter or crisper? Wish I had room for one. It makes my Trumpeter Arizona look like a light cruiser!

Actually that photo etch adds a lot to the price. No after market needed except maybe a wooden deck. 👍

I bought one at Amazon a few years ago (hands down, the BEST glue for PE parts....seriosly....almost as strong as solder) but now it seems to be out of stock pretty much everywhere ! Of course you do. Anything that large with a 'bathtub hull' can be converted to R/C. It would be stupid not to R/C it, really, as it living its life inside a glass case or out in the open gathering dust is just a shame.

Hi Gary, rumours are that there might be a cooperation between Monochrome and Potos planned to release an add on set that will contain a wooden deck, metal barrels and more etch metal. We're hoping that we will be something that we can source! Potos may be planning to release an update set as well (usually they do so about 4 weeks after a new release) although these are not usually sets that we can source. I hope that helps and if you are interested in potentially ordering in the Monochrome/Potos set if/when available please don't hesitate to reach out once it has been confirmed.

I am almost done with my Tamiya Yamato premium version. What is everyone's opinion on how does this compare to that?

Hi there, it's definitely a matter of personal opinion. One of our modellers has found that the Tamiya kit is also an excellent alternative with far less photo etch parts the Tamiya version can be built waterline or full hull. The Monochrome kit however is 1/200, the Tamiya is 1/250. I hope that helps to provide some insight!

I believe this is the ‘Trumpeter’ kit. They often distribute kits through their related companies and not their own name. Maybe for business reasons or in this case as it’s Japanese WW2 ship, possibly political reasons. They are also using Gallery Models and Glow2B for US and European distribution respectively. Check out Scalemates, the box art is the same.
