You guys should definitely do Petz 5 for one of these. There's a bunch of fan-created content and mods like PetzA that will let you download different animals and breed literally almost any of them you want together. I once force-bred a creation that so unsettled me I put the game down for two years. every time i put it on a new computer i'm still haunted by what i did. I have so many other nightmare stories about that game I wouldn't know where to begin. If you pop a balloon in the circus room in front of a chinchilla persian it will scream and literally roll up into a ball you can throw like a toy.

Honestly the only enjoyable part of the game to truly play was the cell stage and designing your creature. The only other game comparable that I've found to the cell stage was agar.io. As the stages progressed they started to feel more and more like a watered down, not as fun version of better games. Can't really blame them for never getting that far in to the game with each monster factory.

Happy KZbinr I found the other stages enjoyable, but as a whole rather than individually, since each one is about accumulating experience until you reach Space. Seeing what your gameplay choices lead to is fun, it gives the game an amazing sense of scale. It also helps that you don't spend that long in the tribal and city phases.
