There are some mothers that when they don't have a husband anymore, get so attached to their son that start to think of him as their husband. Sadly my grandma had this problem. She once had told my stepmom that she (my grandma) and my dad were like husband and wife in everything except sleeping together. My stepmom lost it and told my dad to set his mother straight, which he did and she started crying. My mother-in-law is trying to do the same thing to my husband but he is minimizing contact with her. This problem is much more common that one might think.

@Metal_Mouth2 жыл бұрын
@@pippo17173 It's called emotional incest and I see it a lot in these MiL/FiL stories. It's when you put the emotional support you usually get from a romantic partner onto your child. It's gross, selfish, and destructive. And a lot of adults who do this creates co-dependency on their kid and it tends to destroy the child's romantic life.
@D-me-dream-smp2 жыл бұрын
Yep it’s been recognised as a psychological disorder- emotional incest where there is no physical/sexual element but otherwise the child is treated as a substitute partner - in a practical and emotional sense and obviously usually involves a lot of guilt, manipulation and coercion. It can also occur irrelevant of gender since it’s where they rely heavily on the child for emotional support, make them feel responsible for making them happy/fixing their problems and burdening them by confiding about adult problems or issues. It’s common in narcissistic parents.

The US still has a few protections in place that would stop this, but there are people actively working to remove those (in an attempt to make it illegal to have FDA approved "at home" medications from other states, amoung other things) along with the rights of pregnant women to seek medical treatment in other states (possibly by making it illegal for them to cross state lines), sadly these people are gradually making progress still. When women have miscarriages (I’ve had 2) we usually need to have a D&C to remove the dead fetus material or else we can die. (I'm not saying ALL single moms, I was one.) She doesn't get to be a "hands-on grandma" when she's rude to you, sorry. Your bf needs to put a stop to her passive-aggressive Jocasta behavior, or this relationship is going to be a nightmare of her constantly boundary stomping and treating you like an incubator and live-in caretaker for *their* child while he excuses it. Make sure Melinda has the right story, sounds like MIL embellished it a bit. You didn't say anything about her religion, that's just her excuse to make YOU sound unhinged. I'm also pretty upset at your SO, who knew this was going on, didn't tell you, and when you confronted him for the second time about her behavior, finally admitted it was "off." He's never going to stand up to her, and has made that clear with his actions. Regardless, don't let MIL around the child or she can claim grandparent's rights. "She deserves an explanation for how she is being treated"? So do you. "...trying to stop that is being a bad parent." NO. Shut this down hard, this is the groundwork for her calling CPS on you. Allowing someone this unhinged around your baby, would be being a bad parent.

I always wanted to be the best MIL on the planet because my own MIL hated me--she gave me lessons all our time together in things I would never do or say to my kids-in-law. The crazy MIL in the story 100% caused the bad relationship and cut herself off from her grandchild. I bet her church isn't impressed with her, either.

My ex mother in law didn’t like the name I gave to my son. I told her she had no vote and gave the name I picked for my son. She was always mad I didn’t baptize him, but I don’t believe so why would I?

Everyone is thinking it’s miscarriage of the baby but in reality when you’re charged with miscarriage it’s “miscarriage of justice”basically lying to someone or trying to trap them with false pretenses.

Thank you for the more plausible and sensible explanation. For a minute there I really thought that there were women being locked up for being unable to carry to term, my head damn near exploded!

"Charges of Miscarriage" Without knowing location, laws, and further circumstances, all I can provide is conjecture. That said, such charges can exist in jurisdictions in which an individual can be convicted of two counts of murder when killing a pregnant woman. This can even exist in places where one can legally acquire an abortion by having the abortion process regulated, much like you don't just let random people perform an appendectomy on themselves, a self-service abortion can be extremely dangerous. Similarly, they don't want Corn-Beef Carl to perform discount medical operations(not just abortions) out in the back alley behind Hardee's. This scenario is extremely dangerous and ill-advised.

In this case, it's the law that isn't your friend. The police have nothing to say about it.

Hi. This one's full of the old ' nitty gritty ' nasty situations, I'd say. Thank you for a good dose of distraction for my evening.

Nta. She was living rent free in your place. She broke into the shop and stole the goods. She is responsible for paying for all of it. Ops father should press charges for breaking and entering and theft of goods. With its cost being so high it is a felony. The ex and all her friends can share a cell block. In no way is OP wrong

So like... I know pregnancy cravings are a thing, but your friends don't get them too. So many pastries might be bad for baby in a way, but if it's the only thing you can keep down then it's better than nothing. I cried when my fiance ate my last fudgesicle and didn't replace the box because they were the only things I could hold down until I was actually medicated.

story 1: the MiL is definitely some personality-disordered individual. Not sure which one but heavy on the narcissisms in any case.

Glad OP Charged his ex and her friends for entering into the bakery and eating 1000 dollars of pastries. Ex saying it was all for the baby is bs. Sorry she messed up your home but glad she is getting charged for that too. Glad you now know that her pregnancy was fake too. Must be a lot to deal with but I hope your bakery business still flourishes. Keep looking forwards and good things will happen.

Story #2 anyone remember that meme about the Possum that broke into a bakery and gorged itself on pastries that's what I'm imagining as I read this post 😆 I hope the OP holds no offense

The faked pregnancy one, if she does something that harmed the fetus & caused the miscarriage then she could’ve been charged because she did stuff that she knew could potentially cause a spontaneous abortion

I'm sorry, did OP say "possible charges for miscarriage?"

I looked it up and couldn't find anything on charges of miscarriage, but maybe it has something to do with not properly disposing of a biohazard? I'd imagine other things would be charges of abortion.

The charges of miscarriage part really throws me off. Who tf has the right to press charges for a miscarriage?? No one can control whether you miscarry a fetus or not. Lol stupid legal shit

Yup, this is what happens when a woman has a son and not a husband. She gets extra territorial because her son IS her man, in her mind. No wonder she is so jealous. Her behavior is no different than the “female BFF” stories we always hear about.

Ok, everyone freaking out about the charges of miscarriage: it's a law/precedent meant to stop people from purposefully committing acts they know will cause them to loose the pregnancy without an actual abortion It's not meant just because you loose a pregnancy. Yes, it has been misused at times, but theres instances for EVERY law where that's happened. It's meant for situations where abortion is illegal past a certain point and the mother is "maliciously" committing acts she knows will harm/loose the child. A good, but also not, case is one where the mother had a drug issue. She had drugs in her system which COULD have caused the miscarriage, but the medical reports in the end said that wasn't the cause. (The charges went forward and she got jail time, so also an example of it being misused) Other examples are those being charged because they lost the pregnancy, but had previously (within a time frame of like 2 weeks) been looking up ways for an abortion; those "at home" abortions, and things like that. It's meant for cases like that, where there's some kind of proof that it was on purpose (after the specific window had passed, and not a medical necessity) For the case of OP, it could be those charges because of the break up, him attempting to press charges, and such. [I don't know exactly what they would have tried to argue since idk the state] it most likely though was only a scare tactic, as they suspected she never was pregnant. (Side note, how far along was she supposed to be? I saw someone say first trimester, but I didn't catch what/if the OP said)

Last story: It means "miscarriage of justice", NOT a baby. Come on people, read the law sometime.

FIRST STORY OP needs to keep the kid with this woman. She is going to say bad things about OP to the kid. I see nowhere in the post that OP said anything bad about MIL's faith. I think MIL is scary. Possibly a restraining order is needed. Also, OP should never trust a change of heart in this woman. To play nice nice just to get access to the child is well in this woman's wheelhouse.
