That fish that fell off the hook at the end was a Catfish. Blackish top and a white belly. Most likely a small Channel Catfish. You should find a River that has large Trout are a ball to catch like that. Also for ideas on videos. On ultra light or just light set ups to fish with old lures and tackle. The stuff that you have or from an Antique shops. Find a lot of old wooden lures that work great. Some are even hand carved. I would say targeting Trout or bass because of it being light set ups. Just an idea, do with it what with it. Great video, I hope to see more.

Just a safety tip. Do not wear rubber boots like that when kayaking or in a job boat. If for some reason you were to capsize, your boots would immediately fill with water. The pressure and weight from the water would keep you from being able to kick them free and could cause you to drown.

Use a strip bait. Fillet a side off a 6>8" bait fish. Fish whole fillet on 2 single 3/0 hooks spaced 3" apart. Thread hooks through the fillet. Gars have hard bony mouth, never get a hook set in hard outer, let them swallow the bait/hooks.

@618Fishing5 жыл бұрын
Dead Rabbit haha that’s wild! I don’t know much about them, but this one sure was fun to catch!
@catchofthedave86815 жыл бұрын
618 Fishing yeah bro, they are crazy fun to catch. I do a few local kayak bass tournaments, and everyone always hates on them (I guess cuz they are mad it wasn’t a bass) but I love catching them. They have crazy bursts. Granted, I’d rather be catching bass in a tourney, but when im fishing for fun I only catch and release, so I enjoy every second of catching them. They can get like 15 or 20 lbs too. I love that kayak man, I picked one up myself earlier this year, finally upgraded to the pedal drive. Mine is dark green, it’s also the 12 foot120pdl and I use the same c-tug breakdown wheels. I love the setup, I have a helix 5 graph installed on mine. It is nearly impossible to flip it, you really have to make it flip. I’ve done crazy stuff in crazy conditions on mine, and it’s never flipped. I’ve lost my balance and fell in a couple times, but never flipped it, even climbing back on it is easy, it doesn’t try to flip. almost all others flip when you try to climb on them from down in the water. Plus the old town lifetime warranty on the hull and 5 years on the drive is a game changer, I know someone who cracked one at a scupper hole and old town sent him a new one no questions asked and even sent a new drive when the old one was perfectly fine.
