Now I’m not gonna suggest replanting the BioOrb AGAIN, BUT, If you were to do it again, it would be kinda cool to do it with species from where the obliqua grows! So like a “native” tank!

That biOrb costs a fortune. It should tell you the exact temperature, humidity, light, and mood of the plants inside. For that price you should be able to customize everything. For that price, it should clean your house and make breakfast.

I imagine the biggest cost to that biome is the glass that must be extremely hard to make that huge glass globe. I imagine not everyone that's formed makes it to be part of the product. I know just to buy a glass cloche for plants they're expensive compared to other items. I don't think the people are getting rich from that product

Not happy with those who told you it had adansonii type leaves. MickMitty can tell you that obliqua has many leaf types, depending on the locations it grows in naturally. What's available in N.A. is all from only one location. In Europe there are a few more types. Mick has videos where he has found real obliqua with No Holes at all. Other types have only one or two small holes. Species ID is based on flower structure which home hobbyists hardly ever get to see.

Love the setup overall, but I feel like that mystery fern behind the Obliqua kind of obstructs and takes away some of the focus from it and would look much better behind the Trex skull, leaving just the tree stump as a nice dark backdrop for the showcased specimen. Could totally just be the angle it was filmed at and if that is the case please disregard my suggestion

I love the T-Rex decor inside your BiOrb, it's just funky, not creepy at all. I really love seeing your new space and the lighting conditions, and how you've got things placed. The biorb looks much better! Terrariums have a steep learning curve in my experience, but are very satisfactory. I've scaped a few (for snails, geckos and plants) and I'm still learning. I'm used to puzzling all the pieces together myself (lights, water, humidity), doing it manually, but retaining full control.

My misting/fan unit broke the day after i set it up. I got a replacement that took 1 month to get. I have also had to take out three plants due to yellowing leaves though I assume mine are due to bugs (i got some aphids). Thank you for the fertilizer tip. Gonna do that too. Awesome sauce Kaylee! That little guy has grown so much. You did a magnificent job scaping the biorb. Me, I'd wake up in the middle of the night, to go and adjust something. I don't know if it's the way it was filmed but that fern is trying to upstage the obliqua (sp). I'd move it more towards the gorgeous dinosaur skull. If it's just the film angle, leave it be. Love the eye shadow btw. Tfs

Yep. I did wonder if there was a bit too much light for those plants. I also wonder how the moss will do. It is a lovely piece, the Orb, but I wonder just what is the best plant to put in it. And wow, a touch pricey. Still given the chance, I'd definitely use one.

Love these vids, they really are something else! Keep them up, recent subscriber that loves your channel! A slight enthusiast of neo (broms). The fireball really only shows intense red colouration in very bright lighting conditions, which I think the biorb should be able to provide once they have matured a bit. I personally think that the two fireballs (or adding addition neo's) would of been better off wrapped in some sphagnum and mounted onto the resin wood structure - which is awesome btw, would look amazing in aquariums! - which would help increase the vertical backdrop that you mentioned that you were looking for in the beginning, but also allow space around the sides for another (rare/unicorn) plant of your choosing for the sides, that may appreciate a shaded spot? Not to mention, being closer to the light, they are more likely to develop their red colouration! (In the wild, neo's are epiphtye plants, which naturally grow in soiless media. I currently have an unnamed neo growing in my hermit crab tank - tropical and humid - where it is mounted on a DIY concrete background and is a pretty nice red colour...)

Kaylee, First off I'd like to thank you for turning me into a Philodendron addict. Love your vids. Might I suggest you make your BiOrb bio active by adding a CUC (clean up crew) Also your broms should be mounted as an Epiphytic plant, and adding leaf litter would make a world of difference. I'd love to see you set up an Exo Terra Terrarium. Just suggestions, your channel, your vids, Love ya!!!!

The Bromeliad Fireball will get more red under intense lighting. The Vriesea will only keep its color under bright lights. I'm not sure if the lights in a BiOrb will be quite enough to keep the color on them. However, none of the bromeliads you have purchased are terrestrial plants. The root systems are almost exclusively for anchoring them to a branch or another plant, in an epiphyte situation. I wouldn't expect them to do terribly well planted in soil. Your fern might be a Korean Rock Fern, although it's hard to tell. Fittonia are popular for terrariums because they really thrive in there. For other appropriate plant options, rather then googling terrarium plants, you might want to look into the Poison Dart Frog hobby. Poison dart frogs are almost exclusively kept in bioactive terrariums with delicate plants that won't outgrow small spaces. Especially bromeliads and small fern types.
@KayleeEllenOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for this :) I actually looked into dart frogs as I really wanted them. But I have no way of auto feeding them so I've chosen to keep an aquarium instead
@pooky1255 жыл бұрын
@@KayleeEllenOfficial You might want to consider Mourning Geckos then as well. Not as colorful, but much less maintenance and do well in a similar habitat. Aquarium moss converts pretty nicely to a terrarium situation. Java gets a bit leggy, but weeping moss, riccia, or Christmas moss can look quite nice. You might also try out some anubias or bucephalandra species. They do quite well in a high humidity setup without overtaking smaller tanks. Personally though, my favorite genus for terrarium plants are sinningia. They stay quite petite, flower regularly, and are fairly easy to keep.

What’s the point of a BiOrb if you can’t control the conditions? Like a person can control the conditions in their house. I figure the point of a BiOrb would be to be able to do that as well with the benefit of having everything enclosed nicely. The name Biorb even eludes to that. Get it together BiOrb. It’s not like we don’t have the technology.

hi Kaylee! Love your content! I was wondering what you meant by no runners = happy plant?
@josephbittar50413 жыл бұрын
Generally, if you put an obliqua in your house it wouldn't really grow new leaves due to the environment being less than ideal . It would just send off stolons (runners). Kaylee however, seems to have given it the perfect environment, thus her plant is actually producing new leaves rather than runners. Runners are the plant's way of finding somewhere else to grow. So maybe it's not sending off runners because it is already in a good environment thanks to the orb. That's my basic understanding of what she meant haha

@GoblinPrincessKyo4 жыл бұрын
There's nothing non-vegan about enjoying the beauty of creatures long after they have passed. And, it's much better for the environment than plastic which is kinda half of the whole point of being vegan or plant based. So really, it's much more vegan to use animal skulls and should bee promoted over unneeded plastic that actively harms our world.
