As a kid in growing up in Liverpool, Brady being in Ashworth hospital made him seem like the boogeyman while he was alive. Every year on the anniversary of Keith Bennett’s death, his poor mum would be on the local news appealing for information and they’d always flash up the infamous mugshots of Hindley and Brady and it would freak me out. Great pod as usual. Don’t listen to any fools criticising your styles of delivery. It’s what makes the pod unique.
@tiggerthecat18 ай бұрын
When I was a youngster my football team used to take us to play and train at the Ashworth facilities. We used to have to wait in reception and then they would lead us to a sports hall. Looking back it seems bizarre that a group of schoolboys were taken to train in an asylum that was home to Ian Brady! Was an eerie place! Don’t remember seeing any of the residents though!

I used to live about 5 minutes from Brady and Hindley's old house, which has since been torn down. I was also about 5 minutes from Dr Shipman's old surgery. 3 of the UKs worst serial killers all in walking distance. Lots of fun!

Strangeways is so called as that was the name of the park/area it was built on.

@@ICouldMurderAPodcast if you’re REALLY interested it probably stems from the old English for ‘by a strong riverway’ and the area has been called something like strangeways since the 1300s

You ledge! It’s just the very occasional anonymous profile having a pop, takes a lot more time to say something negative than to say nothing at all but there ya go 😅

I saw the Ken Dodd thing as well right off the bat... This is my second comment regarding look-a-likes but I do appreciate the rest of these episodes as well. Keep up the good work.
