I Took a Metal Detector to HORNY CORNER and Pulled Some TAIL!!

Today Pirate Mike and I headed over to a spot I’ve been wanting to check out while down in Southern California called “Horny Corner”! It was really old bay-side beach with a lot of history! We only stayed for a short time due to the hunting conditions, but I did manage to pull some Beaver Tail! 🤣 Later we headed over to the Belmont Shores area and Later on we went to Seal Beach! I spent 37 yrs in San Diego. My hangout during my youth was OB or Ocean Beach. When further north my faves were Huntington, and Manhattan Beaches. I think your hauls would have been more fruitful in the summer, but escaping work and getting to hang with fellow hunters is awesome. Thanks for sharing Socal adventures. 👍

A great detecting day! Tnx for the Magnet Man style scenic shots of OC beaches. About detected needles (& CBD vapes/diffusers too), I trash them. Why falsely self-implicate if found in your vehicle... "The towed SUV was found to contain paraphernalia..." 🤐 Maybe I'm old & it's a non-issue now. 🙃

Nice hunt. I had a quick question. I have the nox800, when you use it what are your setting when you are at the beach? I also live in California down here in San Diego. Any help is appreciated 👏 and would you use the 6 inch in the black sand?

I haven’t used the 800, but I would imagine the settings are similar to the 900. I run Beach 1 on pretty much factory settings. The only thing I change is the recovery speed (between 2 and 5) and the sensitivity depending on the beach conditions (usually around 20-24). The 6” coil is good for areas with a lot of targets like around the fire pits.
