The suit Steven changes into is the Mr. Knight suit from the comics. A little more subdued version of the regular Moon Knight. Don’t know if you know but scan the QR code from the storage locker and you get to read a Moon Knight comic at Marvel. This show is incredible so far!

Aside from the sheer beauty with which they're shooting it, the subtlety of the avatar being the only one who can see what's going on is (I'm guessing purposefully) making me think of the phrase "god-touched" - used to describe those suffering from mental illness in some places in times long gone. As an explanation for crazy behaviour it would've made sense, and it likely was kinder than some of the alternative ways of dealing with it, because it was bad luck to mess with those "touched by the gods"...

Steven is caught up in one of the paradoxes of DID, which is the desire all humans have to be in control of their own agency and the fear of letting somebody else control their choices.

Marc never says he’ll relinquish the body permanently to Steven. He says that Steven will never see or hear from him again, but if Marc got rid of Steven that would happen. Also Marc and Steven are not the only personalities of Marc Spector. It would make the most sense if one of the other personalities set up the date.

As someone who has been a fan of Moon Knight for years, these first two episodes have been incredible and I’m for the most part extremely satisfied. The Lemire Moon Knight run is one of my favorite comic runs of all time, and imo is the definitive Moon Knight story in many ways. And I’m really happy they’re taking the time to focus on the psychological aspects of the character first, taking their time to establish the character and all his different alters. He’s a very complex character that for newer audiences not familiar with his source material, would need some time to ease into. There has been some changes from the comics, primarily when it comes to Steven. But honestly I think they’re mostly for the better. And this episode pretty much solidified that Marc is the original host just like the comics. There’s a lot of evidence pointing to that and references to Marc’s comic origin, along with implying Steven is still a pretty new alter. Overall I’m extremely pleased so far

Marc says he’s been doing this “for a long time” and has been married. In the comics Mark is the main identity and Steven is a split personality there’s also a third named Jake lockley notice how there’s always three reflections reflections and not just two. All of Marcs feelings for his wife everything he feels for her has manifested in Steven

There might still be a third person played by Oscar Isaac we haven't met yet. Because, yeah, Marc is divorcing his wife, but he clearly loves her. And he wouldn't set up dates because he doesn't want people close to him to get in harm's way.

The comic is all over the place on the DID and where it began. The MCU is creating its own story because the Moon Knight and Mr Knight personas are a bit different depending on the comic run you read. It seems they are going with each persona in Marc has its own Moon Knight version. What will be interesting to see next is the backstory to Marc and Steven. Was the DID always there or was it a recent trauma and what caused it? The comic does both over the years. For me the feeling of what is real and what is just in his head is starting to happen for me. I would love to see Moon Knight with other Marvel titles but I would also love to see some trippy turn on what is or is not real. Either way the storytelling is great.

The date thing is definitely suspicious. If Marc knew he was going to the Alps to get the scarab on the day of the date, then he shouldn't have asked Steven's coworker on a date to begin with which leads me to think it was his third personality, Jake. edit: Also, the fact that Marc planned to divorce Layla, to distance himself from her to protect her from Khonshu, tells us that he does not want the people close to him to be involved in his situation which makes the "date" more likely to not be his doing.

OK so remember the panther god in black panther bast is based on the Egyptian god and we’ve had mentioned to this connects the black panther in that way. Bast is based on real life mythology Bastet. Bastet was given the heart of ra. Funny enough wakanda had a heart shaped herb. Marc is Khonshu avatar so in a way since the black panther got his power from bast is he like her avatar. The asgardians are gods and we have seen a transfer of power from thor to steve Rogers however it be by a Thor’s hammer. THat brings me to relics of dr strange where they use weapons of higher beings to channel energy and power. Also a lot of this is based on Egyptian mythology which is In Africa another obvious connection to panther. Bastet is a direct child of ra and also his protector

Marc Spector is the main persona which is because of suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder; which is what Arthur eluded to. Steven is the secondary persona which is indicative of Khonshu calling Steven a parasite and revealing that it was Marc whose dying body he found and made his avatar. Notice there is a traceable history by Marc but Steven’s identity is only tide to the gift shop and voicemails and post cards which have shown no proof of Mum. I will not give away much more do to spoilers but I will say Mr. Knight the second version of the suit is the cunning detective while the main hero is the Moon Knight. Which one was Steven send which was Marc, that is also a telling sign. We as viewers are seeing from the lens of Steven but that does not make him the main persona. Another thing to consider is the date from the first episode. Look at how protective Marc is of his wife, he would not make a date to have Steven move on with his life, but it would likely be a third persona. Notice how the reflections typically come in three. Also, the final frame of episode 2 reveals Steven still in limbo but on the floor what could be Marc but if Marc knew where they were going would he be getting drunk knowing that he would be facing grave danger? Would he look disoriented and checking to see where he ended up this time? Khonshu already let let him know they were traveling and Marc obviously knew where they were headed. Lots to consider eh? It is going to be a wild ride and I hope you continue enjoying the series.

I think the avatar that made the date with the museum lady probably wasn’t Marc or Steven. We saw another persona in the physical world which is Mr. Knight (white suit guy from the comics). Or it might have been Jake Lockley who is a cab driver from the comics as well. But who knows I guess we will get more info in the next few episodes.

Ammit got tired of waiting for people to do bad things and taking care of them at that moment (that's what Khonshu does), she looks at a persons whole life (past, present and future), and if we learned anything from Loki and What if...? it's this: our lives are fixed--He Who Remains looped the Sacred Timeline; the end of the universe is rebirthed and repeats again and again and again--the TVA were tasked with making sure that indeed was the case. Despite knowing the outcome of things to come, 2014 Thanos continued down the path of 2019 Thanos. So, with our destiny's being what they are, rather what they'll always be, I can see why Ammit operates the way she does. Still the other gods of he Ennead found her view deplorable and locked her away for this. I suppose this is because of what 2014 Loki showed us, people don't always stay on the path fate puts before them. 21:53 I would love to see that poster Steven was talking to Donna about, the one with the 7 of 9 gods of the Ennead. I bet Ammit and Khonshu are the two gods missing, as they're both outcasts. We know what Ammit did, but I wonder what Khonshu did to lose favor. Whatever he did, I think he's doing what he's doing to find a way back in, and he can't do that unless he ends Ammit. Khonshu might have aided Ammit, but realized that it was wrong. They both do the same things, save for killing people for what they will/might do in the future. Khonshu made it clear in this episode that he only kills people AFTER their injustices, countering what Arthur told Steven while they spoke. Arthur right, however, there's always one more thing with Khonshu because he won't stop until he's back in good favor with his peers, the other gods of the Ennead. Why would Arthur go from one extreme to another, though? Ammit's has got to be much worse than Khonshu. Maybe deep down, Arthur believed in the things they were doing, but since Khonshu had lines he wouldn't cross, Arthur sided with Ammit because she would. 22:59 I think the answer to this is coming. Marc's mind is fractured. I'm not sure how far Disney Plus is going to go, but I think we have one more persona, Jake Lockley, and he might be British too. I assume Jake is a persona that both Marc and Steven don't know of, as he might take over when they're both resting. Steven seems to be a construct based around Layla. I wonder if Jake is a mix of Marc and Steven.

So we have debut of mister Night. I love this. I like that you cannot see the jackal when Steven/Marc is fighting it. Just because something isn’t real to someone else does it mean it’s not real to you. We had to return of MCU purple power. I like that Arthur has his hands everywhere I love his cult members are part of the police corruption which gives me the idea that maybe Arthur wants to be the God he doesn’t want to be an avatar. I like the Disney+ jump from the previews that we see from one night. All the stuff that Layla likes is what Steven likes so I feel like Marc is the main personality and Steven is what he created later. Steven is definitely his softer side but I feel like all of that comes from Layla. The jacket is definitely based off of Anubis got of the dead in Egyptian mythology. A lot of this reminds me of the 90s movie Spawn just how he moves. khonshu is kind of a dick lol. With the difference personalities talking through mirrors it reminds me of extraordinary gentlemen Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

[SPOILERS FOR END OF SEASON] I was wondering about the Marc asking a girl on a date thing, and I looked it up and some people on reddit have the theory that Jake's the one who asked. That would make so much more sense tbh. It would explain why Marc missed a date he supposedly set up himself while knowing he couldn't afford to go on dates lest he put a person in danger, or why he would ask someone on a date when he's already in a relationship - because he didn't (according to that theory). That, or it could be some other alter we don't know about

I just found your channel lady and gentleman and I'm loving your reactions to this episode. I wonder if Steven would be a repressed personality that Marc has made to cope with losing Layla that's why Steven has so many similarities with her interest and knowledge. I really enjoyed this 2nd episode of Moon Knight it was great seeing the dynamic between Steve and Marc as personalities but they both can agree to disagree while Steve is still horrified by Marc's violent actions in seeing that Justice is done. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't think they see the subtitles, when they're watching the episode. They just include them later for the video. I didn't notice a moment, where they reacted to something before the character said it.

There are several parts in the video, where something important is written in the subtitles, but they only react to it, when the character is saying it. But I don't want to rule it out now either. Because their eye movements would sometimes fit that they read subtitles. But I wouldn't assume that from their reactions alone. That's why it doesn't bother me.

@@ohara. they show subtitles in the video because they have to keep the video volume very low to avoid copyright and so they have to have subtitles so people can read what is being said because you often can't actually hear what is being said due to the low volume of the video. It does spoil things slightly... but it is, unfortunately, a necessity for most reaction channels here on KZbin.
