@@artificialzero9683 I didn’t think I was going to find them, but I did. You have to be patient and keep looking. If you haven’t found them within 10 minutes, restart the process from the dead-life pod next to the aurora

I have a really bad anxiety about deep ocean and whats in the water that I cant see. this game horrifies me at times, but for some reason I keep comming back. In my personal experience I didn’t find any moom pool fragments sadly BUT I found so much lithium, copper, even diamonds, I even found enough cyclops fragments to make it, so although I didn’t find the moon pool, I found so many other resources that made trip worth it 10/10 guide

The mushroom forest is an excellent place to find Cyclops hull and bridge fragments, the power transmiter for the thermal reactor, as well as moonpool fragments. I've personally never had luck finding modification station fragments outside of wrecks, but as you said it's completely random.
