The colors are incredible. One would never think that there were only 4 colors used on this piece. I am just now learning about resin art, and I hope that I will feel confident enough to try it myself soon. My question about this piece is are the sides the clean brown that they started out as, or do the colors run over onto the sides?

Thanks Mary Ellen. To answer your question, I did let the resin flow over the edge. The entire surface and sides were clear coated at the start so that the color would move as it wanted.

New to your channel and appreciate sharing your talent and years of experience. I've just started combining CNC woodworking projects and resin art flow. Is there any benefit of waiting for the resin to harden a little (maybe 20 minutes using table top epoxy 1/1 mix) before moving the epoxy with wax paper or heat from a blower?
@MoonkusserArt8 ай бұрын
Table top epoxy tends to be thicker and sets up faster. Waiting could result in you not being able to create any effects.

Love your work👍💕 Can we use acrylic colors?
@MoonkusserArt4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can however your results will most definitely be different. When I started out creating resin art I used acrylic paint because that is what I had a lot of. Be careful acrylic is less than 10% of the volume to resin or it will react quickly together possibly curing in the cup. I learned the hard way 😉
@sherrislife20463 жыл бұрын
Can you use the premium quality resin from the epoxy resin store doing a swipe like this? Or is it best to use the table top like pro marine? Maybe if I let it sit for 10 minutes?
@MoonkusserArt3 жыл бұрын
You can get the swipe cells with the resin from The Epoxy Resin Store. Let it sit in the cup for 10 minutes to let the bubbles rise and slightly thicken (thickening is the key). Pour your surface resin and let it sit for 10 minutes to thicken more. Now add your resin from cups to do the swipe technique and you should get cells. ProMarine is already thick and works for the cells but the odor from it is very intense and you must be sure to wear a mask and in well ventilated space.
@sherrislife20463 жыл бұрын
@@MoonkusserArt Yes I use pro marine also. I use pro marine and I use the general purpose. Pro marine is much thicker you’re right. So yesterday I tried to do the other one with the pointy nozzle. But I don’t think I let it sit for 10 minutes because I was impatient to start LOL it was very thin and I had my blower on high also. So it really hit it fast. I’ll try the swipe tonight. It was working for me a little bit but not like yours. but I did get some cells and it looked awesome but then I didn’t like the design because I blew them out too big. So I watched your video again last night and realized I laid down too much resin also. I am determined to get this but I sure didn’t last night LOL it was a mess and then I tried to get something out of it and still didn’t like it. But believe me I’m gonna keep trying. I contiue to try to make the large cells. I am getting small cells and waves. What do you suggest?
@MoonkusserArt Жыл бұрын
Getting larger cells can take time to produce regularly. A couple of things to try that make it a bit easier when first learning. For me, a thicker resin keeps the pigments suspended longer. White pigment works the best for larger cells.
@bettyburns9481 Жыл бұрын
@@MoonkusserArt I just saw your reply. Thank you. When you say a thicker resin, do you mean the resin with the pigment or the clear base resin? I also was using the small hand held torch.
