God, I love Moonstruck. One of my comfort movies. One of my favorite things about this scene is the fact that Chrissy, the girl who earlier in the scene Ronny asks to "hand me the big knife!" and at the end here admits her love for him to the other woman, never appears in the movie again.

I think the ambiguity of his acting is that there really are people in the world who are this histrionic, overdramatic people, and Cage seems to capture that person perfectly. He perfectly captures the every day overdramatic person who's forcefully trying to instill his life and self with character and narrative. This was just a random accident, and it motivates the driving conflict of the movie lol

Unfortunately the academy award gets / has a more cache than say box office receipts or people’s choice. I think expectations for pop star Cher were much lower than for established actress Glenn hence the award went the way it did.

So odd about this movie that I hold so dear…I’m not a particular fan of Cage…this is the ONLY picture that he’s my fav actor. She doesn’t deserve him yelling at her like that. It’s not her fault that he lost his hand and bride. Immediately she gets a massive red flag and yet she ignores it. If I were her, I would've run for the hills after he behaved like that towards me. There's really nothing romantic about this.

I'm not a big fan of romcoms, but "Moonstruck" is just a damned near perfect film. Playwright John Patrick Shanley wrote the screenplay and there's not a wasted word in the script. I'm a pretty tough guy, I suppose, but this movie turns me into a pile of goo.
