They only need better quality. A premium Powerpint with better materials and finish will be a best seller

powerpint with the latch for bit retention, and a thumb stud for the blade would be awesome also, I hope someone makes a ratchet driver like leatherman, the powerpint is better suited for that tool than even my leatherman wave

OH MAN! That SOG Paratool in the middle brings back memories! It was my first SOG and my main pliers multitool until my gen 1 Wave replaced it. I still remember using that SOG patch our fence when I was in middle school. I have hated seeing the company fall over the years and this news probably means that the company will never return to it's former glory. What a shame.

Bringing back the swichplier indicates a short-term play to drive the volumes up before they sell to China. Hopefully China fixes the scissors on the power pint and grids a flat driver.

They should step their designs and focus on the tradesmen, the area leatherman seems to be drifiting away from. Company purchases tend to be chaotic, messy decisions desperate to cut costs and ramp up profitability

That explains why I ended up buying a multi tool from the sog store, and they sent me a completely different tool. Before they would send me the correct tool, they wanted me to send back the wrong tool. Then when I did that, they said sorry, we can't send you that tool at the purchasing price. The sale is no longer valid. And I said, that's not how it works. I purchased the tool during a sale. And now you guys are not going to stand by the transaction. Because the date has changed.Or maybe you are actually out of them and don't want to tell me.

Yeah, we'll wait and see. In the meantime I've been buying lots of old SOGs and a few ultra-rare rebrands. Keep an eye out in the group for them!!

My power Pint is one of my favorite pocketable multi tools. The pliers are their best feature, actually better than Leatherman’s. Unfortunately the tools are constantly coming loose and wiggling which I hate, requiring tightening almost every use. But I still use it frequently and the bit holder is Ideal for 2”-3” hex bits. My take on SOG is that they have great tool ideas with poor execution. Being sold to an “Equity” firm signals their demise to me. I think that poor QC hurt SOG more than anything else. That and their pricing is going up rather than down. I just saw a power pint in Walmart for $50. Too much!
