Model Y are made in multiple factories in the US, unlike the Model 3. They might do the refresh in stages. Perhaps shut down Austin first and then Freemont once it's back up.

You have a much more realistic strategy for them to put out and maximize the potential that they could do with the model y! I totally agree with you 100%. But I feel everyone's way optimistic and they just think that we're going to have 0% down and 0% interest on a brand new amazing model y in December. And they're going to give you full self-driving mark down and free lifetime supercharging. Because why not give us everything for nothing before the end of the year?

They have to start SOMEWHERE , with SOME Factory, Question is just where. Realistically I would say America , because there they have 2 Factorys producing the Y , so one can do the switch, and the other one can keep going, and then They do the other one. Afterwards probably Berlin and then China. Could also be that they do Berlin first because EV sales werent the greatest In Germany this year( but they are up again these last 2 months I think)

Other car manufactures update their cars all the time, and build them at lots of factories. Why is this only an "issue" worth talking about when Tesla tried to do it?

Only a temporary place for the plate on the test car. Tesla has covered up the trunk lid, to not break the law they just mounted the plate on the black plastic part temporarily.

In Australia we are getting flooded with cheaper Chinese vehicles, therefore I think in our market Model Y Juniper will not have a price increase. That is what I am hoping for.

Really looking forward to it. I’ve given some thought to selling my 3 since values are dropping like a rock and I want to get out asap, and leasing a Juniper as my final Tesla before finally jumping to Rivian when my R2 is ready.

It's more likely they will reduce prices or offer incentives to move old stock and update all versions of the Model Y at the same time. It would complicate production to have old and new variants of the same model concurrently.

The new model Y will be made in Texas, sooner than we think. Texas has the space and infrastructure.

I guess they will reveal the Juniper model Y, robo taxi and perhaps some other goodies today. When they launch a new model, the stock page is usually flooded with cheap models and I haven't seen that yet, so I don't think it's ready.

Naaah. Its a EU dealer plate holder. It is held by two straps that is held in place when you close the trunk. So the plate hangs suspended from the trunk
