It wasn't beautiful, BUT it had alot more mate. Bubbles, Megazone, Frontier Land, Super bowl, more chippies, burger vans everywhere, etc. Frontier Land was class back in the day. We used to terrorise the place on a Friday night as kids. The best thing about Morecambe is the view across the sea of the lake district. Amazing.

I grew up on those streets at the start 😅 My nan still lives there. This is the most run down area of Morecambe and a poor representation of the majority of it.... Re-visit in the summer months, pubs on the front are packed, amazing sunset and views of the lake district 😊

Morecambe is a good town to live in. Billy has done a tour of the rough bits. He did not wait to have pint in a sea front pub and watch the sunset over the bay to the Lake District. One of the most beautiful views in the world. I've lived in London, Cambridge, South Shields, St Albans and Bristol. Out of all of them Morecambe is the most pleasant town to live in. Even the street drinkers are polite.

Which part of Spain? As I've been all over Spain and while the tourist parts, the centres of the cities, countryside, etc, are beautiful, the inner city areas are far from that, some parts looks like shanty towns from South America and people have it more difficult than here. The amount of Spanish people I talk to who tell me there is "no work" is unreal, while I have 3-5 job offers from agencies a week here in England. Here is an example: when on the way to Manchester airport, the English taxi driver told me he goes to Thailand 3 times a year and has been to Brazil, etc. But when on the way to Málaga airport, the Spanish taxi driver, who was similar age to the other and did the same job, said he had only been outside the country once to Paris and couldn't afford to go away. My ex, who is Spanish, also didn't have it easy and I know Latin Americans who want to go back to Argentina and Colombia. It's OK for the foreigners with a few quid who retire out there or digital nomads, etc, but the working class locals get f'ed even worse than here.

Saying that, on the other hand, Spain overall is much more beautiful than England, but then it always has been if we are honest. Spain's a far superior country for beauty, landscapes, lifestyle, culture, food, friendlier people, etc. But it's hard without money, that's the issue man. I'd move to Colombia or México if it wasn't for the crime, bad security, corruption, etc.

It's the place I went to live from 1999 to 2001. Then I moved to Lancaster. After dropping off the van I hired to move my stuff I had to walk back all the way from Morecambe to Lancaster as I had no money left. It was walking back along the sea-front that I got a real 'lump in my throat' realising I was really going to miss it. I go back occasionally as it's just along the road, especially in Summer when it transforms completely and there's hardly anything better than getting fish 'n' chips and then sitting on the beach to look at the world-class view.

Morecambe bay is beautiful- I went back a few weeks ago and walked from Heysham ! I was also shocked how much the town has nosedived- I was there a lot in the early nineties as the x came from there - family used to say Lancaster council stripped Morecambe of anything of historic value and re deposited it in Lancaster - I don’t know wether that’s true or not but it has been neglected for years and years ! I always thought that town had so much potential - it’s shameful! The walk on the front to Heysham is lovely- I’m told you often see Tyson Fury out on a run all I saw was a long line of camper vans parking on the promenade by the mass - but the views are stunning and the town needs some TLC before the Eden centre is built - its long overdue!
